RE: First Pics: Arash AF-10 supercar
Discussion
I think people are being pretty unfair here...I am an intellectual property lawyer, that's what I do for a living, I deal with IP all day long and in my professional opinion this car is not simply an Enzo clone (although I can see why some might think that). I see some very unique, distinctive and attractive styling details on this car - for me, the similarity ends with the fact that the Arash has 4 wheels, high-mounted rear intakes and round tail lights...these being design details shared with about 99.99% of all modern "supercars". I could go on about the commonality of 21st century aerodynamic design and the limitation of mid-mounted engines etc., but that would be bordering on a personal opinion rather than a professional one, as I am not a sportscar designer!
From the renderings I think it is a pretty stunning design but, as we all know, the "flesh" can look very different - may end up looking like an Enzo for all I know!

Have you seen one recently?I wonder if Ferrari will take the same stance that they did with that MR2 that had been kitted into a 355??
It does look better that the Enzo IMO.
But, its all wrong. British Supercars are supposed to be much cheaper. They should be insanely powerfull, but cost a fraction of the other super cars. Like TVR, and Lotus etc.

If he actually produces that car, i can GUARANTEE that Ferrari will have their lawyers on his case quicker than he can change the company name and start up a new one...
I know a few Ferrari people in Torino, and they're rather protective over their intellectual property...
There is no way Ferrari, can claim this design infringes on their Intellectual property, the overall aesthetic is similar, but different enough. This will not stand up in Court, otherwise, I know a few Ferrari people in Torino, and they're rather protective over their intellectual property...
companies like Ferrari will have a monopoly on certain silhouette's. From my experience, if a design is 20% different from the original it is not Intellectual property infringement.
I actually think, it is an improvement on the Enzo.. Not sure about the 300k price tag though..

Sorry to be a pedant, but I would say that the British ethos is more simple, light, enjoyable to drive - ie not numbed by electronics or driver aids. Lotuses - relatively - are not that powerful, but have good PtW ratio. It does look better that the Enzo IMO.

it would be great to see another british sports car manufacturer but the Arash/Farboud has been around too long and as others have said he is only stealing other designs and not using his own (however bad it might be). I remember one he made earlier which was an almost exact copy of a Porsche GT1. Also why did he sell the last company then have to pump more money into starting up another one? I think there was a road test of the previous car which was quite positive when he still owned the compnay so why not see that through and then go on to produce your £320,000 car?
I think this explains quite nicely...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arash_Farboud

Why does everyone give Arash such a hard time? What's wrong with someone pursuing their dreams of building a sportscar no matter what road that takes. Lee Noble has done it, Trevor Wilkinson did it, Koenigsegg did it, Pagani did it so why is Arash not allowed to? It's not like it's an easy thing to do so he should be encouraged not derided. Shame on you.
That may be a CGI image but I can attest the car is nearly ready....
Here are some genuine first pics. Early build but it's progressed a lot from here. Trust me, it's some piece of engineering!
Because he has quite clearly nicked the design cues (and then some!) from an Enzo, the engine from a £70k Yank coupe, and then expects people to pay $550k for it.That may be a CGI image but I can attest the car is nearly ready....

Dreamer.
Baffles me why should he be gunning for supercar kudos.
He is a very fortunate who can say "I want it like that"
When most affluent people say "I want one of those".
Regardless if it goes into production he can have a bespoke car all to himself,
and a Veyron if he wants to follow the herd.
Good on him.

i agree, it looks nothing like an enzo and i would be amazed if ferrari could get anywhere at all in court. The front end is completely different, the screen, the rake of the pillars, the side, the rear....i dont know how moe different it could be - the only crime if you can call it that is that the car has a pleasing but admittedly similar silhouete.....
oh and of course the price... which is slightly worrying.
