And £40k for a Civic is having a laugh, as I seem to recall EVO saying!

You'd have to be a certified, solid gold ocean going loon to pay £40k for a Civic, sorry Honda!

It's not just any old Nissan though. It's 500bhp and it would show up alot newer more exotic metal.

No, but values of cars do reduce with age, unless you're talking about something very unusual, and this isn't.

How much was it new?

It's a V Spec II Nür, so it is reasonably rare.

So is a 430 Scuderia or Gallardo Superleggera, they still depreciate!

Nissan only made 750 of them, how unusual do you want to get?

Edited as I thought it was the rarer M, not the more popular V-spec 2 version of the Nur.

Still a lot of money for an 8 year old Nissan that cost not a lot more new!

Value is whatever someone will pay, these cars are still 5.5-6.5m yen in Japan, they were just over 6.3mY new, before taxes but like all limited editions they are subject to speculators, profiteering and out-bidding.

As an example the original R34 GTR was 5.7mY in 2000 which was £35,160, once modified for official UK sale the 100 cars were £54,000, the Nur cars would have been subject to the same mark up, if not more so due to their rare numbers (250 Nur Spec M's, 750 Nur Vspec2's vs over 7000 examples of the original JDM V-spec)
So, £59k in 2001, eight long years and god knows how many thrashings later, £42k.

Come on!

Are you the type of person who would prefer a new stter car to an older better car for the same money?

I don't do old stters it's true, but of those 2 I'd take the BMW, I just think paying a little over 70% of new price for an 8 year old car is ridiculous.

For £42k I'd have this....

http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/1393741.htm and a stter for knocking about with the change.

Or

I would really like the RS4 it was the saloon version. I really don't like any type of estate. I think it just spoils a car. I also love the Ferrari but, if I had a car like that I would always be scared that a very big bill was just round the corner.

Lets cut to the chase, how much do you think a Nur is worth, and can you find any examples for sale anywhere near that figure you have in mind?
No idea what a Nur is, but then I like to drive not play Gran Tourismo.

An 8 year old Nissan is worth about £9k if it's not been messed to death with, which they all have.

Personaly I always think estates are much cooler than saloons, hence the RS4 Avant, saloons are cheaper.

And there are no more scary bills on the Ferrari than on the Nissan with the grenade up front.

HTH.

Fair enough. I have just noticed your cars. They are very very nice. By any chance do you need someone to look after any of them?beer
