RE: Audi A8 Gets First Show Reveal
Discussion
If it didn't have an Audi badge on it but rather an American one, you'd think it was par for the course. Then again, since Audi aren't stupid, they will have noticed that the Americxan market is where the big ugly Lexi clean up and where the car's target market is.
So far from European bravado and styling risks, they've just followed the inevitability of the Japanese business model and styled a car for the target market instead of trying to impose one they don't want.

Love all the people knocking it without having seen it first hand. Audis were never "in your face" anyway, so this is in line with the previous A8. The amount of technology in this is amazing!
That may be true. But there is no excuse for the mind numbingly bland design of it. There is no shortage of amazing technology from other manufacturers as well, but they manage to package it into a desirable product. This thing looks like a Shanghai taxi cab. It will flop. Audi must try harder.

Yawwwwnnnn....
I don't know what's going on with luxury saloon design these days. If I had the money (I don't, which is perhaps why I don't 'get it'), then I just couldn't bring myself to be seen in the A8, 7-Series, S-Class and I'm really not even sure about the XJ. I'd have to blow too much cash on the mighty expensive to run Quattroporte.
Fortunately, I don't have to deal with such a problem...

Apallingly dull; useless corporate suits trying to 'make a range' when what we want is flair and innovation. An absolute gift to Jaguar though and we are grateful for that!
Anyway, the Audi's so dull it'll depreciate even faster than before, so a £60k car should be a bargain at £25k after three years?
But actually it won't, because it's so packed with electronic gizmos that it will be a nightmare out of warranty...in the hands of Audi dealers.

Something like this should have some sort of a wow factor. I know its a Luxury saloon and it must retain the looks of the rest of the range to an extent but very poor in my opinion. As some one pointed out the A4 already looks too big and I agree, seems to have a super long wheelbase. This thing must be enormous. Actually I think the Q7 is well styled for what it is and same for the A5. They could have done a lot better.
