Me too - that's a bargain vs the equivalent Lambo/Ferrari/etc.

(Actually, no I'm not...steele is displaying the 'snob factor' that stopped the NSX from being a sales success in this country)

Luca - compare new vs new. How much is the equivalent Ferrari NEW?!?

Maybe it's just me, but it just looks too much like an A4/A5 convertible.

112k? I would buy a F430 Spider for that money. Much better looking and still one of the very best.
You wouldn't get a new F430 Spider for 112k though.

Bit of a pointless comment, that's like saying "instead of a new Cayman, i'd buy a 355"
Quite. Second hand comparisons are pointless. This is new cars we're talking about - and when you see the prices of new Gallardos/458s etc, this 112k seems to fit right in it's own little hole. Just above 911s, just below Ferrari and Lambo.

PS: Always loved the R8 - think the spyder looks great!

I think it would have been better as some sort of targa.
I agree. Soft tops don't appeal to me, especially in this climate. A targa top has most of the appeal and benefits of a full convertible but without all the downsides. I wonder why more manufacturers don't offer them so much anymore?

There's always someone on here who has to moan about the price as if they're about to walk into the dealership tomorrow and buy one.

Of course £112k sounds expensive to the average Joe (me being one of them) but if you're in the financial position to actually buy one, £112k probably quite reasonable given the stunning car you're getting.

I agree with others - Targa version would be great!

No, not just you. For that money I think it needs to stand a little further away from the mass produced stuff and I don't think it does. Could be an A4 diesel from the grill/lights.

Agree with this, feel the Targa top is a versatile configuration.

There was! I think Audi was asked to design the future car thingy and they did, only they thought, hang on, this is quite nice! So it went from a prototype to reality fairly quickly I think but I'm sure someone else here will give you the full story.

Name another new mid-engined car with a 500+hp V10 engine, good handling and fantastic build quality for less?

None, good point.

I like it, and in Brown I think its pretty cool. In silver or black though and you'd look like a footballer which isnt a good thing.

I think it looks great from the rear end. As for the price new it does not have very many competitors. And for once this Audi comes very a very good basic spec:

And come on it even looks good in Metalic Brown:

To what end? Looks like John owns a (rather nice looking) Ferrari... it's not as if Audi don't have a racing pedigree is it..?

So, only me that thinks this is an unbalanced design? Ooooooops.
I love the standard R8 its stunning, but this looks a little arse heavy to me too, not bad but not even close to a Gallardo, 50 grand cheaper!! but not as pretty! Have to say it is a bargin compaired to its main rivals, Lambo,Ferrari,Aston though. 112Grand!!! bargin!! did i actually say that??? god i have been drooling over supercars for way too long!!!laugh

I do like that colour. Looks good enough to drink! If only I had the balls to drive a car of that colour!
