For you aygo fans, BANZAI magazine bought their own and supercharged it along with some other tasty mods then gave it away in a competetion. IMO it looks like a brilliant bit of kit.

it is for sale on pistonheads too! http://pistonheads.com/sales/1430381.htm

Don't think it should be in 'boring stuff' though frown

£6k isn't bad for that, although the steel wheels would be going back on and perhaps some darker seats hehe

Wasn't there an article in the last few months saying Peugeot were going to go back to smaller, lighter driver-orientated cars after the current 207/307 models?

If so, thanks to this abomination I hold no hope what-soever. And if I mis-remembered that, there's even less hope!

My old 306 XSi may have been underpowered but it still handled brilliantly and had a boot like a tardis. Excellent stero too. And it hardly ever went wrong. Always fancied the iconic 205 GTi but never quite got around to it.

The S16 was used instead of GTI badges on the GTI-6 and the 106 GTI. I think the 138bhp 206 was the last S16 badged car.
Hard to tell actually - looks like S16 is used mainly in foreign markets, but I can't find evidence of any UK S16s since the 306.

Everything that's wrong with marketing departments...all in one car. So so lazy it's untrue, they couldn't even be bothered to paint the (standard) wheels white. Basically a sticker pack and a signature abusing a classic identifier from Peugeots heritage.

Yes, the GTI badge wasn't used on the 306/106/206 in Europe, they went with S16 or RC.

I find it amazing that Peugeot clearly have no idea how important the quick models in the range are, or how important decent styling is. The 306 sold in mega numbers, the 307 just didn't.

The lack of power isn't so much the issue as the fact they haven't lightened it or improved the handling.

Very, very, very ghey. 0/10 with the sad stickers on it.

It's rubbish, but it's for the youngsters, right? I assume insurance would be quite reasonable and it at least looks a bit sporty. That said, I'm not sure the graphics are a great idea.

+1 Straight to the point. Too heavy & underpowered for what it is.

Younger boy racers might love it though, especially if it's affordable enough to insure.

Last year i bought a really nice looking 205 gti 1.6. a bit ragged round the edges but for £600 with tax and test i thought it was a bit of a bargain.

Turned out to be the best £600 i spent as its really nippy ! and comfy too.(with a proper sporty feel) it sticks to the road like sticky stuff on a duvet and it still looks amazing. and at 60mph through the twisties its so much fun ! surely this is the point of a hot hatch pug... fun!!

I think peugot should sack all the modern phd / grad designers and recruit the old school guyus of the 80's - 90's to make a decent hatch back. (not that pice of trash)

Oh Peugeot you've done it again! We're going to have to start calling them French Leyland soon!

Seems like a bit of a missed opportunity to resurrect the T-16 name for boy racers in proper homage to rallying success.
OK it would have had to be a tad less vicious than the 424 bhp original (or perhaps not biggrin: )

Doubt it. The Twingo 133 is cheaper to buy and insure, faster, and a lot more fun!

Holy mudflaps Batman, that's gorgeous.

There was one at the PH Show that I kept coming back to - such a terrific thing. I almost hope that they don't try to 'resurrect' T16 as well - Peugeot need to leave their lovely heritage alone if they're not going for the enthusiast's pound anymore (which recent evidence suggests as being the case). If they want to focus on non-enthusiasts and fashion buyers that's fine, just for goodness sake don't ransack your own heritage in the process!

I think a hot version of the 107 could be pretty cool - at least that's a small and light car to start with. The 207 is pretty massive compared to the 205. The 106 GTI was pretty nifty as I recall, and not a million miles away in size or performance (though sadly chavved to death).

It's funny - I was posted a glossy brochure 'highlighting' the Peugeot car family. I've never seen a range of more hideous looking cars my life. (OK the 107 is passable). Are there any new cars sub £18K worth buying? I'm worried as I don't know what used car I'll want to drive in 10-15 year's time!

Kind of reminds me of when Ford tarnished the Mexico name on the mk5 or 6 Escort.
