RE: New 911 Turbo S Revealed
Discussion
My comment on this type of model is... Why? Why make a super edition of the super car? If you have £100k to spend on a car, who would go buying the cheap version? Why not just sell the 911 Turbo as the ultimate road going porsche instead of making pointless dilutions? New version gets the thumbs up but, IMO, is should be a maturing of the old car, not the introduction of a younger, better looking brother.

Because Porsche makes more money this way. There will always be people who want the latest and the best. I really don't know how Porsche are going to evolve away from the 911. The layout is so compromised that it's 'easy' for the competition to build an alternative like the R8 that has and will continue to steal sales. And frankly, £120k for a 911 that, to the vast majority of people, looks exactly the same as the 911 that went before it and the one before that and.....is silly money. This is not 911-bashing because I will freely admit they are sensational vehicles, but there comes a point where sensational isn't enough and it becomes predictable. For some that is perfect, but for many others it is not.For the last four years, I've continually replaced a set of t-shirts with ones that look almost identical, from the same store. I don't want to change - I like them too much.
I guess it's the same with 911s - someone out there likes them so much, they prefer the fact that they can buy almost exactly the same thing again and again... It's like buying comfy old shoes, taht are actually new...

Fell asleep in all the excitement of yet another 911........yawn.
HUH? You fell asleep? I was rendered unconscious in a vegetative state after reading news that another Porsche 911 variant is being updated .I think I remember the article stating that the headlights are 0.000000098% larger than those on the the 2009 turbos S coupe and the air conditioner compression motor produces an extra 0.0016 Nm of torque at sea level, AMAZING NEWS!Seriously This is just a pathetic face saving attempt by the German car company to build a 911 that's faster than a sub £56k 2010 Nissan spec GT-R. For £130,000 i could buy GT-R, cayman S and a Golf gti instead of this mutated Volkswagen beetle with its Nazi sponsored origins from WWII . German efficiency and innovation is only matched by the Japanese so why do they insist on being second best trying to perfect this outdated rear engined relic?
surely the point here is that a 911 turbo with 21k of options will immediately have lost that 21k on resale the moment you buy it - options dont have a future value.
With this, it will be the turbos, so the options are all part of the list price and will have a residual. so it's good business.
Faster too...

What do you drive BTW?
The problem with this car is that it is an S.
When people ask what car you drive you will answer A 911 Turbo S.
To which they will reply, Turbo S? how is that different to a Turbo?
You will then go off on one explaining this, which you will, half way through they will have hanged themselves from the nearest light fitting.
