UP51ART, the registration number is not for sale and is therefore not detailed on the website that you quoted. As I stated in my post it is actually registered on a vehicle and you can check it's authenticity by going to www.webuyanycar.com and entering UK05 AMA into the 'value my car' box at the top of their home page. The point that I was trying to make is that surely this plate should not be allowed to exist. Obviously the name OSAMA had no relevance before 911, but this is a registration plate that was issued 3 1/2 years or so after this tragic event took place. If that isn't reason enough to withdraw it then I don't know what is. The fact that it is actually mis-spaced to UK 05AMA just makes things worse!

what's wrong with it?

Osama is a very common name.

The spacing is mildly objectionable.

You can also check any plate - even some where the car was scrapped a few years ago, bizarely - on the London congestion charge site www.congestioncharging.tfl.gov.uk. Here's what comes up:-
Vehicle: UK05AMA
Details: GREY AUDI A6 TDI S LINE

According to My Car Check UK05AMA doesn't exist.

I have just seen a Range Rover Sport with the plate RR51 ANG. It was spaced to read: RR5 1AN G.

Oh dear.

Well I'm blowed. I did check that plate on Mycarchecker and the congestion charge site before posting and it didn't show up on either. Just rechecked it on con. charge site and there it is! (As above)
I probably typed it incorrectly.... twice.

Obviously UK 05AMA is not available but, for better or worse, 48 other _ _ 05AMA 'plate are;

(Disclaimer; I do not decide what registrations the DVLA will, or will not offer for sale, nor will I be drawn into a political/religious debate on a number plate forum)

Followed a new Z4 in Barnstaple and the number plate read LADY JM. I had to get right up close to see what it should be. The A was a 4 and the D was a 0 that had had a piece of tape put on the left hand side to alter it into a D.

Looked incredibly naff and highly illegal.

Why don't the cops pull these over and nick them?

I'm with you. There's someone in our town with L4DY W. The worst thing is, she is a bona fide Lady (at least, she has the title, but is clearly lacking the other less tangible attributes, such as modesty or taste).

I'll see your M1 5HAT and raise you M1 8USH.

Seen on a Mercedes M class in Wolverhampton today.
Their other set of wheels is a 911 with W1 8USH - normally floats around Himley area.

Did you own it and enjoy it for 8 years? If so and this forum made you sell it then that is very sad. Do what you want mate and not what a load of people on the net tell you. My plate (and user name) will remain as long as I want them.
