Auction was today - car was rough, but apparently engine in good condition. Made £3600 + Buyers premium.

Blimey, some proper Alfa Romeos rather than the crap they make these days. (Well, since about 1993....)
They were such an expensive car back then, and the 105 was the last properly made one. Still a rust bucket of course (all cars were back then) but they were so well crafted.
Both the white and the blue one need restoring to standard and not bdizing into some awful 'Evocazione' GTA fake.

So a quick thread resurrection, having fed back the original responses to the owner he decided not to do anything with the car, preferring instead to wait for it to increase in value. Unfortunately earlier this year he passed away and his partner is now looking to sell - I understand she has an Alfa specialist coming to look at the car this week but thought I would just get a refreshed opinion on value; given it has been 7 years since it last saw the light of day!

Mileage is believed genuine at 51k and I believe it is a 1 or two owner car - will need complete re-commissioning as has been sat in the garage for around 20years (I think) - drove in but obviously that doesn't mean much 20yrs later!

And so bringing us up to present day, the garage was cleaned out last week in preparation of unearthing her....these pics were taken then:

As you can see, looking a little grubbier than she did 7 years ago but all in all not too bad.

So my questions to the PH collective:

- What do you think her value is today as she stands?

- What would be the difference if she was running?

Just trying to work out whether it would be worth getting her running to get the best price for his partner or if it would just be easier to let her go as is; I suspect the later as I have no clue if the engine even turns over - it's in Bristol and I am in Southampton.

Much as I would like to try and take her on I simply don't have the space or the time, but I am sure someone out there could make her sing again.

Thanks for your help!

Matt

No idea why it's not appearing on the main GG thread listings. Techies have been made aware.
