So is it 500hp PLUS the 218 from the electric motors?
As for the fuel consumption and emissions, I would doubt that you could have your cake and eat it - 500hp OR low emissions and fuel consumption, not simultaneously!!
Happy to be proved wrong though - lovely looking car and good to see some original thinking from Porsche at long last.
Now they just need to marry the electric motors with a proper aircooled flat six and we'd have motoring nirvana....
But it only has to be capable of those figures to satisfy the EU regulations..I'm sure if you run the electric motors and probably 10% of engine power you can obtain those stats.. This should satisfy everyone you still have the noise of the V8..fair play this is definitely a step in the right direction. As for the fuel consumption and emissions, I would doubt that you could have your cake and eat it - 500hp OR low emissions and fuel consumption, not simultaneously!!

Now, who said Porsche build 'boring' cars?!
Wow!
Certainly looks more like a CGT replacement, but I can't wait for design elements to filter down though the ranges over the next few years.
The spy pics of the 998 (if it gets called that) look almost identical to the 997, but with 993 wing mirrors. Although I love the 911 shape, I wouldn't be adverse to having this instead!

Autocar are saying it's the succesor to the CGT.
Being a tad cynical - it looks like IT IS a CGT - or at the very least it uses a CGT carbon tub - those sills etc are all too familiar! So a bit of a quick lash-up using an old CGT tub they had lying around??...or a well developed sucessor to the CGT?
One things for certain - if it does go into production - and does use the CGT tub - don't expect any change from £350k.....at least!
