Anyone else thinks the front looks like an F430? Very pretty!

I'm personally surprised its not turbocharged (the article seems unclear to be honest), as if they did something really clever with variable vane turbochargers they could get the increased thermodynamic efficiency of a light pressure turbo when they did the fuel economy tests....and some beastly power at higher revs.

Anyway Ill take two...

I'm assuming you never went to Le Mans when TVR were racing then?

If it's a plug in hybrid that means it will have a limited range in hybrid mode.

Better then to throw out the additional weight of the batteries, electric motors and other paraphanalia and the performance would improve dramatically.

Wow it looks good there, reminds me of Le Mans. Someone photoshop some classic racing colours onto it like Rothmans or Martini ..

Best looking car for years from them.

Gave it a 10.

Dear oh dear, there are still some that will fight this corner... it amazes me.

I suppose the earth is flat and evolution never happened, right?

I was reading about a 'hybrid' porsche racing car with a big flywheel thingmy, to store energy instead of batteries, is that what this will have?

Generally speaking, I dislike Porsches. I've always known how good they are but to me they are utterly devoid of any appeal. Endless rehashing of the same shape that was unremarkable 40 years ago. Crappy interiors Porschophiles stubbornly refuse to admit are uninspired, cheap looking and genrally toss. Maybe it's also that they seem to attract the fan boy, a pet hate of mine. You know them, the people who "support" a car manufacturer in the same way they do a football team. They ignore anything that doesn't glorify their "team" and spout ill informed bile at the first opportunity about rivals, generally without ever reading or taking on board review or expert opinion. They dog these boards with their nonsense and are often wannabes while actual owners tend not to be like that. All in all, Porsches and the culture around them get on my generous man boobs. If I have to read another review about another GT3 or RS thats the same as ever I'll have to eat my own face in frustration, but....

By the beard of Zeus this thing is wonderful! This is a fabulous design and the technology is also droolworthy. I wish I had the means to buy one of these when it lands. It's really a game changer for me, perhaps I was becoming an anti fan boy myself, but this little beauty has swept it all away.
Bang on, well said.

You can have one or the other I think, if it allows manufacturers to continue to make cars like this then great.

Also, while bumbling about or in traffic jams would be nice to just flick to economy mode and save the money for the track day petrol at the end of it.

You like it then? Even though it will probably be bought by middle aged blokes who have been sucked in by the Porsche marketing men?

In the video it says "78mpg and CO2 emissions of less than 70g/km are possible with moderated driving" which is no surprise, as I think it unlikely this is possible on a full-bore lap of the 'ring.

One would imagine it can do 0-60 in 3.2 or 78mpg. Not both at the same time.

Of course I like it, I love the Carrera GT also, they are proper supercars through and through.

Unlike the 911, which is just a grand tourer but not a very imaginative one at that.

Supporting a race team is not what I meant, there's nothing wrong with that. Race teams are sports teams just like football teams, I'll be right behind Mclaren this year. Not the same thing as blindly supporting a road car manufacturer, I don't blindly support TVR. I like my car, but I also like lots of others just as much. That includes this rather special chunk of finest German sausage.
