I like this car a lot. I don't care much for the graphics on on the GTS RS, and other hyper Pork but the discreet performance of this car suits me just right.

Spot on IMO.

Certainly a mighty impressive beast, but I don't actually find myself wanting one.

For that money Aston martin V12 Vantage please, so much more special, heck even an R8 is more special!! Porsche for all their engineering ability need to create a car that is £100k special and this simply isn't. Come on Porsche, the games moved on and you have been caught resting on your laurels!!

What you mean that Vantage that looks like a DB9 that looks like a Vanquish? That kind of design and engineering? As for R8s, well for me, they are boring looking. I wouldn't have this 911 for me the pinnacle of prosche engineering is the RS but this is still a decent car but I see what you mean it doesn't look special enough for the price tag, perhaps a lot more spoilers on it and some fancy bling wheel would make it look like ti deserved the price tagrolleyes
But how many GT3 RS's are used as a daily driver?

The Turbo is aimed more as a daily supercar rather than a pure weekend toy compared to the GT3, GT3 RS, & GT2.

To take the missus out for a nice meal in a Turbo is one thing, to take her out for a nice meal in a GT3 RS is quite another.

For me it would be either 911 Turbo or R8 V10.

First impressions for me, I'm thinking "...meh". I love Porsches, but you can get a very discreet GT3....hell you could even de-sticker a GT3 RS and save yourself some cash over the price of that.

I know the GT3 and Turbo cater to different tastes and the Turbo is mind bogglingly capable and I've read actually steers in a fashion akin to the GT3 but for me, personally, I can't see beyond the GT3/GT3 RS.

I think they should have done a show piece with an aero kit on. This looks a bit dull for me, but some people prefer discression... I on the other hand, would like a bigger spoiler and more aggressive lines. No doubt Techart/Gemballa will help out on this issue cloud9

With that sort of money, I would buy myself the following instead:

Nissan GT-R
BMW M3 (2nd hand)
RS FOCUS MK2

And still have enough change for that round the world trip I have been dreaming of! smile

Chances are if you are buying th eTurbo S you already have a few other cars at your disposal.

Fair point the turbo is more discreet. I was behind one this morning (Came to work in the RS cloud9 ) and yeah you couldn't really tell it was a little bit more special than mine.

Me too, I like the way regular Porsche 911's don't stand out as much as rival 'super cars'. The performance of this is epic and I wouldn't feel awkward using it as a daily!

Well if my car looked like any of the current Aston range i wouldn't be complaining! When you have such a beautiful car in the first place (DB9), you would be stupid as a company not to replicate such a winning formula up and down the range?! Especially when you consider the tiny engineering budget Aston survive on, is why the VMH platform sharing between models has been key to them!

But surely Porsche must win the prize hands down for inventing endless new variants of the same old format every month!! Few months ago, it was the new 997-2 Turbo, now its the Turbo S, whats next month the Turbo S-S?!!! Enough already! Get a C2S or C4S if you want the best of both worlds, or get a GT3 if you want to go track racing. Simples!

That is very true I clearly dont have that kind of money, hence my alternative of 3 for the price of 1 :P

well, the Turbo S goes so fast, that it can actually bend light and disrupt the space time continuum so you arrive before you set off laugh

Actually the lights sense when you are cornering and illuminate where you are heading.
