It looks like a building nearby has colapsed or something? It could have been clean and loved a day or so earlier!
Quite. I had some tradesman or delivery driver tell me that I didn't "deserve" my Chimaera because it was covered with leaves and looked dirty, and I obviously didn't look after it enough (cheeky bd). I'd only cleaned it two days before but it was autumn and we'd also had that dirty rain that has loads of sand and dirt in it.
Never underestimate just how quickly a car can get dirty.
Suppose this can all be explained away with it spending a day in a desert.
Hope the car returns to its former glory, nice to see these cars being used but not left to decay into this condition.

Why is the XJ220 so unloved??
Its still a 217mph car- the third fastest production car ever. Only the Mclaren F1 and Veyron are quicker.
I always get the impression that if it had anything other then a Jaguar badge on it, it would be reverred as the car it is.
Mainly the fact that it was advertised with a V12 then sold with a V6 twin-turbo (worse...derived from the Metro 6R4 engine!).Its still a 217mph car- the third fastest production car ever. Only the Mclaren F1 and Veyron are quicker.

That and brakes like blocks of wood...even from an era where braking wasn't as effortless as today!
Phil,
You seem to be contradicting your self quite a bit here. In you're earlier posts your saying 'It's not all that bad...I am flying in to see the car in a couple of days and will post an update up on my site.
The pics are taken just after the car arrived at the workshop in the Industrial area and is not representative of where it has been all this time.'
Then later you state 'It has been left outside for a long long time....the reason it has been brought in for work is the fuel pump has given up the ghost. The damage to the honeycombe bodywork is also massive...if you look closely on the offside you will see some of it.'
Just curious as to your involvement in this car and the story. Not having a pop just want to know more about the story.

It could have been caught outside in a dust storm, just just never know. I once saw the front spoiler on a brand new Camry get stripped back to bare plastic on the 400km from Bahrain to Riyadh in a light dust storm. The driver had coated most of the front of the car in Fairy liquid (a local trick - it dries to a protective crust and petrol stations sell it by the case) but missed the bottom two inches and that was the result. I've also seen Riyadh after a serious dust storm and all the cars looked like that XJ

Anyway, do you have anything useful to say, or are you just going to snipe at others?
From what we know the car has been left forlorn by the current owner at his/her property in Qatar..we believe...as it has been in Beirut and Syria in the last 6 years.
The car was brought in due to a fuel pump failure and was shot outside the workshop in the Industrial quarter in Doha. It is a bit of hole hence the rough looking street scene.
Mechanically the car is believed to be ok...believed being the operative word here! In terms of bodywork there are some nasty dents on the rear quarter and door...and also damage underneath indicating it has been dropped on a four post lift at some stage.
updates to come soon...
