Badly modified cars thread
Discussion
Pretty sure that SLR has been posted many times already, it's a clear case of money not being able to buy taste (Perhaps one of Gulzar's mates?!)
I actually think the SLR has matured into a very classy looking car as standard, I never liked them when they first came out but they have aged really well.

thing that fries my mind is the amount of work thats gone into grafting one car onto another and at the end of it what you got, that most sought after mass produced 3 series look.
I agree although e46 wouldn't be too common over there so it'd be different, Its usually impossible to get the head light sitting correct for beam pattern too.Still not very fond of it but it seems Its a Drifter that had a smack so they put it back together like so,
This is the same car + overfenders, looks better in one colour
And the dodgy paint-scheme is the team N-style colours, the garage that done it

That doesn't look awful, but I really struggle to see the point given the intended usage of that car. It's a drift car, so it's going to get a front-end impact once in a while which is likely to damage more than just the bolt-on bits.
They've put lots of time and effort into doing custom metal-work to house the headlights, alter the wing profile and modify the bumper mounting points.
So what's going to happen when it gets bumped and that admittedly very high quality metalwork gets bent? Not like they can just weld bits of the front end from a Silvia back on like they could before to fix any bent metal.
I'd understand if it was literally GRP bodywork draped over a space frame but actual metalwork? Seems a bit silly.

Been posted shed loads that one! With different wheels and less 'stance' I'd struggle to choose a standard porsche over this one, especially one of the same age, what a boring looking car there are in standard form, I mean really really boring

Remove the overly large wheels for a more appropriate set and alter the exhaust exits and it wouldn't look too bad. The colour is certainly better than the usual silvers and greys and if it has the extra power to match the widened body (so at least a Turbo) that's ok with me. ManOpener said:

Looking for an OEM VR6 Golf at the moment as always wanted one and stumbled across this:

Raised an inch, on centre-lock BBS wheels and with a proper RSR style exhaust and big wing and that's basically my perfect Porsche as far as looks go.
Like this one...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3szPshoE8uo
IIRC this is a GT3 with an RSR body kit, built by the factory for a Porsche factory driver.
The wheels on the blue car look ridiculous, but according to the add are 20's, which is the stock wheel size.

Like that one, yes. Effectively a road-going RSR.
Not quite an RSR, but have a look at this thread if you haven't seen it already.http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...
Fioran0 has built (is building) a road going 996 Cup with a whole heap of RSR parts.
