How does that compare with an equally priced aston martin (also in terms of performance)?

I'm betting it's cracking value for money. Looks ace too.
A lot less, I reckon. Stunning machine. Not sure about the stripes though.

Except that Jaguar hardly has a recent tradition of anything other than autos. For most marques, I would agree with you, but for me a Jaguar should have an auto - if it also has the flappy paddle option, then all the better.

And nobody, but nobody, gets more out of that ZF 'box than Jaguar soapbox. I'll get down now wink.

Aston DBS is twice the price at £160k and has less power and torque. It's a wonderful, savagely fast, life affirming British car to be proud of but it's not worth twice an XKR 75. You can get the DBS engine in a Vantage but that still costs £130+ new.

Didn't know the difference was that vast!
I'm clearly not in the market, but if I'd be, it'd be the Jag every time.

Lovely but please could I have a manual box.
Just look at the prices of manual e-types to auto's and manual Mk2 to auto's people would love a manual box.
As a last example look at the price of a manual X300 XJR to an auto, they are now nearly %50 more expensive.
Please Jaguar give us a sports car and not a very fast GT.
Sorry had to get that off my chest!

To everyone clamouring for a manual box can I suggest you give the auto a try, it really is very good and I was totally converted by it.

And the 'standard' XKR pops and crackles too, you don't need to pay extra for that.

Looks good.

Having had a fiddle inside a 'regular' XKR recently I can say that I really like the interior too, except for the slightly cheap looking electric seat buttons on the doors. [/What Car]

The front springs are 28 per cent stiffer, the rear springs 32 per cent stiffer and there's a revised rear suspension upright for increased camber stiffness. The adaptive damper control software has also been tweaked and ride height reduced by 15mm at the front and 10mm at the rear. To help stability at the new-found higher top speeds, the Active Differential Control now reduces steering sensitivity at very high speeds.
FYI in addition to the revised rear upright, the front upright is all new.

Bumpy.

Has it still got the standard XKR seats or has it got Recaros or Recaro lookalikes?
