Good of you to share, that must make you wince seeing the photos and the video.
Did you fit a rear roll cage or does that model come with that fitted? Good job it was in there!

At those speeds (140+mph) that bit of track demands full attention and there is no room if it all goes wrong. Have you been back on the circuit since this incident?
Yah, it’s not nice to see it again, but it’s a fact of my life now. It has a rear rollover bar as part of the optional track pack.

I have a mad Caterham which I was out in a month after in November. I doubt I’ll go back to the ring any time soon, but if I do then I’ll alter my line for SX lol.

The car seemed to let go very quickly.
It did. Jury is out of if there were other contributing factors other than my slightly early turn in.

No, they paid up. Mannings, the broker, were awesome.

My policy included track day cover, the ring required an additional premium however.

I was sat in the pits ready to go out when they closed the track. Didn’t believe it when I first heard that it rolled several times. Glad to hear everyone was okay yikes

here's been a previous PH thread about this where some people have been taught that the traffic turning right has right of way, i.e. traffic going straight on has to give way to traffic coming across from their right - as if theres a mini roundabout drawn in the middle of the junction
And I've been taught the opposite! Haha.

Who knows? I always thought the way I've deserved above is the way to treat that situation.

My tip - surround it in barb wire, electrify it, hide it and try to main any scum that try to steal it. I'm still raw following theft of mine last week.
Not quite the driving tip you were after though.

Good to see it held up really well considering the forces. Would have probably been a fatal in something older without a cage.

Get back there and boss it!

It wasn’t so much spirited driving, just a mis judgment of some greasy roads. Lessons have been learnt!

Give over. I got >45mph out of my mountain bike on full knoblies about 25 years ago.

Admittedly down a fking great hill and I was *much* fitter then but someone on a normal "racer" would have breezed past me.
Exactly this...
That's but a minor scrape.
I've hit 55 on my road bike
In my younger years I had a motorcycle pull alongside me and say you know you are doing 45 mph right

It's a 30 limit

It wasn't a carbon bike - reynolds 531 tubing admittedly

I think his speedo was well out as I'd been faster on that section

Lost back end and rolled a few times. Cleared the hedge completely, landing on the other side on its wheels. Lucky to get away with this one
