You weren't leaving a car meet by any chance were you? wink
Haha... Fortunately not.

I remember leaving a Goodwood event a couple of years ago... People lining the road outside with cameras, egging me on to launch the car. I had all of those Youtube videos running through my mind and left very sedately.

Ouch. Hope you're ok. Is the GT repairable or as bad as it looks?
Yeah, I was absolutely fine thumbup

It was a few years ago, and I was offered to have it repaired or written-off. I took the cash option after advice from everyone (on PH, Alfa forums, my indie, etc).
Scary pics...bad enough in a car...makes me shudder to think of being on a push bike or motorbike

I would guess that it would be highly unlikely that anyone on 2 wheels would have survived. The driver came up to a blind tight junction, where he should have stopped, but basically did not even slow down and was on the opposite side of the road. Totally invisible until it was too late. But to be honest, had he been on the right side of the road it would have been close to a head-on collision. Although I'd have had at least a half-second to possibly react. Who knows.

In the end he got 9 points, a £3.5k fine and a ban (I can't recall how long for).

It was more complicated than just the crash. The guy who was driving was mid/late 20s and 6ft 4 or so. He then did a runner. When the BiB arrived they found the driver, who was about 60 or so and about 5ft. I argued that he was not the driver. But the guy was saying he was.

The BiB then took a look at the drivers seat in the Merc, and it was clear that it was set for a very tall person. Also half an empty bottle of vodka in the footwell.

They other party stuck to that story for 3 days before they came clean!

Then took over a year to get the insurance sorted!

Impressive. I have spent some time in Hawkes Bay and that is unsurprising.

I remember once on my way home from work a truck carrying bee hives crashed and there was like thousands all over the road. The police had to stand at each end and make sure everyone had their windows up as they passed through.
Were you okay honey?

I wasn't expecting my post to create such a buzz. They didn't have Sainsbury's over there, so I usually went to Bee P.

Before anyone cops the camel , this is not my crash but it happened almost outside my house so...tongue out

Audi has clattered the van , shoved that into the Skoda , which moved into her husband's van in front too , only minor rear door
damage to that .

There is usually a Mini parked behind the first van , they must be out in that or that would have been obliterated .

no idea what time it happened , I slept through the carnage and saw it all when I went out at 10am .

Glad to hear you got it sorted in the end.
