They're fine. My friend has got a set on his Leon Cupra R, he has been pretty impressed with them considering their price.

They were the budget brand in a recent Evo tyre test, I don't have the issue to hand but I seem to recall that they performed very well under certain test conditions.

They came on the Brera I once had, not as bad as I was expecting.

Far better than a P6000, but not up with the best in the wet.

I've had a set on my Audi Coupe and they're fine, no drama. Whoever was saying they were terrible ditch finders is incorrect.

I had a pair of Acceleras on the front of my accord, barely managed 10k before they were shot. Since switched to Kumho Ecsta. When I had the Acceleras fitted the amount of weights the fitter had to put on the wheels were unbelievable. Not too bad for grip, I would pay a little extra though for better tyres.

Why buy a performance model of a car to only go and stick st rubber on it?

Accelera aren't the worst of the worst, a mate of mine bought a Fiesta ST with them fitted and did several thousand miles and a trackday on them. Surprise, surprise he complained about understeer and removed them before they were fully worn, but he's fairly particular and it's a performance car. I don't think they ever surprised him though.

Absolutely dire. They were on my E39 when I purchased it. So so in the dry, crap/dangerous in the wet. Never again, next time I buy a car if it has budgets I'll bin them and buy a premium brand. They don't cost a lot more. The difference that Contis & Dunlops made since is phenomenal. Like a different car.

I'll probably get flamed by the tyre snobs for this but my experience is very positive with Accelera PHI's.

I had new tyres fitted for the run to Spain this year. I went with my Mustang garage guys recommendation and fitted Accelera PHI's.

The car - a 2011 Mustang 5.0 GT - was originally fitted with P Zero neros (as was my 2007 vert) and I have always been less than happy with their wet weather performance and noise.

What a difference - the car is completely changed for the better.
The tyres were fine in the UK in the wet and on the run down to Spain via Germany (where it rained from time to time) Austria, Switzerland and France.

The car feels more stable in the wet with better grip. With the Pirellis the back end was away at the slightest hint of dampness - no more with these.

In the dry the tyres are almost as good as the P Zeros but the most significant change is the almost 100% reduction in road noise. Over the 3000' trip to and from Spain the car was a joy at high speed prolonged cruising, with little road noise we were actually able to listen to the radio at 90mph (on the autobahns of course)the absence of tyre noise has transformed the car into what it should be - a high performance Grand Tourer.

Given the Pirellis are 250 a corner the Accelera's are a bargain at around 100!

My car is used as a daily driver and a GT in the true sense when doing the runs to and from Spain.
The tyres have now covered 3400' in varied conditions from the heat in spain to wet weather in the UK. Tyre wear is not noticable yet and I have successfully avoided all ditches.

I'm not a racing or track guy so these quiet tyres that perform well in wet weather and are fine in the heat suit my purpose.

Plenty of varied reviews including mine on this site...www DOT tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Accelera/PHI.htm

Just wondering why they were so dangerous in the wet? I've had loads of cars over the years fitted with all sorts of tyres and have never experienced any of them being dangerous. How do you drive in wet weather?

My 159ti came with a set on the back. When the front Pirelli's wore out I thought I'd give these a go. Bear in mind for the 159's 19 inch wheels these are approx 100/corner, versus 300/corner for anything 'premium'.

As others have said, so so in the dry, scary and almost dangerous in the wet. Can't wait to get them off again ASAP even just to get my winters on.

The new pair will be going on the back with something premium going on the front. The wet understeer / lack of grip from the Acceleras is truly not funny.

They are fine on my 159. Will get another set when these are shot.

The various threads on AlfaOwner seem to rate them as well.

I drive obviously with caution, but for example a wet roundabout at even slow speeds I could feel it stepping out. Hard to explain, I just didn't feel safe.

Oi! hehe

But in all seriousness the premium tyres are so noticeably better I don't think I'd ever go back.

Fair enough.
The point to be made is that they are far from dangerous.
I don't use them on my S60 (Firestones all round) or the XC90 (Continentals all round)..but they are decent on the beater Golf.

They coped incredibly well on my Monaro VXR, excellent handling characteristics and always felt planted.
