RE: Driven: Lexus LFA
Discussion
I really hate the looks. Reminds me of a very busy mitsubishi 3000gt.
What I didnt get from this review was weight, power, 0-62mph, quarter mile times, or frankly any performance criteria whatsoever. Considering the discussion is of a performance car, the lack of any performance data makes this quite a limited article.

And surely, since all this data is freely available, and the car has been reviewed in many places, many times, the crucial aspect to report is how the car drives and feels - an aspect that's not so freely available.
If all you're going to do is crunch data, then there's no point in driving the car at all...
Congrats to Riggers for topping the Goodwood lap chart with the LFA on fastestlaps.com:

BTW, Sandor van Es (veteran pro racer) appears to knocked out a 1:24.87 during one of his demo laps with a cameraman onboard.
As for the LFA's somewhat porky figure (measured independently at ~1580kg) compared to the 458, Lexus added structural reinforcements during their Nurburgring development until they were satisfied there was zero flex, and we can see that result in how the car behaves in numerous road tests. Additionally, the LFA (being front-engined, RWD) needs associated driveline components like the torque tube to route power to the rear, as well as additional plumbing for its rear-mounted radiators. And two extra pistons and conrods plus associated valvetrain. Lexus are also backing this with its typical powertrain warranty which is 2-3 times longer than most supercar warranties. It's been torture-tested through multiple 24-hour Nurburgring enduros in very close to stock configuration, so perhaps a Ferrari 458 subjected to the same rigors and expectations of durability might weigh quite a bit more than quoted.

That seems to say top speed in kh/h which is totally wrong as riggers hit at least 240km/h, shame things like this rarely seem to be accurate!http://www.fastestlaps.com/track68.html

I saw that alfa 8c today , is as big as fiesta, sounds like 1.6 mini and looks like it's been made in a shed . Which it probably has
Did you really hear an 8C? Was it actually running?I heard one 'open it up' in Nice, France and it sounded awesome!
I had thought school holidays started next week (assume you're a 12 year old you see) but seems not.
Nobody who is a petrolhead and has a love for all automotive sports cars should knock this masterpiece of modern engineering!
Please please, stop using the price as some sort of failing in this Machine, it has F' all to do with the ethos and dynamics of this car............try and get any manufacturer to design and build 500 one off supercars to this standard for less than £250K a piece!.......they would struggle i feel..(look at the price of a Pagani or Koenigzeggzzzzzz !!)
My penarth, Thanks.
