Me assinine?

WTF? rofl

Do I really have to explain that car reviews are, on the whole, subjective? There are good and bad reviews out there for most things, if you look hard enough. It's not a binary thing. You ingest arsenic and you are guaranteed to be poisoned. You drive a car that someone else didn't like, and you are not necessarily guaranteed to share their opinion.

fking assinine... roflrolleyes
Oooh that seemed to hit a nerve. This is the real world and if someone doesn't agree with you it doesn't mean they are insulting you, but you have to admit that on balance your comments made little sense.

yes I am fully aware that reviews are not binary, that there are positive reviews and negative reviews and that all are subjective. From what the review says however I can work out that something is not for me based upon criteria that I have for that item or event, from reading several I get a better idea of that if most if not all make that same point.
Don't see how there is any lack of truth in my comments, or how your belief in the contrary is anything but an odd comment.

So other example to hammer the point home. I don't like heights, so when I read a review/reviews of a fair ground ride that describes the heights I know its not for me. Or do I have to go and try it under your rules?

"The steering has little feel"
"The ride is hard"
"The gearchange is baulky"
"It's noisy"
"The seats are uncomfortable on long journeys"
"The feel of the controls is nasty"
"The engine sounds coarse"

etc
etc
etc

Yes, you can tell from a spec sheet and a price list which cars might fit your criteria, but to then write cars off due to subjective reviews is nonsense, in my opinion. Especially if you're then going to spout forth what is supposedly your own subjective opinion, having only ever the experience of another persons.

There's a lot of difference between saying "I don't like that car because the ride's too firm and the handling is pants" and "The reviews I've read say the ride's too firm and the handling is pants". The former will lend weight to your comments whereas the latter proves you can read.

In the few moments I get to part the missus from her Abarth 500 keys, I'm always struck just how amazing it is to drive. Yes, 135bhp isn't much, but you're sitting in a shoebox... And it looks gorgeous !!

I love the idea of a 260bhp 500. If I had £30K to spare, I'd have one (missus would prefer a loft conversion ???). I'm certainly buying Pirelli shares when these arrive in the UK.

What an extraodinarily assinine comment you have made.
That might have come out better if you had not spelt asinine incorrectly. Im not usually one of the spelling police but that’s one word I really would not like to get wrong.

Looks good value compared to the cost of only the wheels on the Veyron. This is is probably a lot more fun on British B roads compared to that bloated leviathan too.

The standard 500 is cute/chic whilst losing out on interior space etc to less glamour obsessed competition, with such compromises on space this actually does a better job on concentrating on the wham bam factor.

Hmmmm first impressions are Fiat & Ferrari have coupled with Halfords.

If I was spending 30k on a car it certainly wouldnt be this, Im sure it would be a hoot to drive but I can think of 30,000 reasons why its just stupid.

Compare to some of the other cars you could have for that price and the little fiat (whos build quality and reliability for such an overstressed engine is surely going to cause some problems or will require far too regularly servicing).

So all in all nice idea but wrong package and really degrades ferrari. If I had just spent a couple of 100k on a brand new 599 and someone pulled up next to me in one of those at the lights I would feel as exclusive as Ferrari think you should feel in their cars.

And no amount of test driving is going to change my mind........Besides I usually have a smirk when I see a man who is trying to look serious behind the wheel of a 500, no amount of ferrari badges or stick on spoilers are going to change that.

Well, as long as Maserati and Alfa don't chav up their cars, I'm happy.
Ah, you must have missed the following:

- 147 Ducati

...

At least give them their dues in the respect that some real engineering changes have been made for this:

- Brembo 4 pots,
- Different Turbos
- Electro mechanical gearbox

The changes for once are more than skin, well paint, deep.
In defence of the 147 Ducati Corse, it does have an uprated engine that no other 147s have, as well as different suspension and a standard-fit LSD. Shameless abuse of the Ducati name, but aside from that it's not really fair to say it's just badges and paint. smile
