The Team involved recently designed and built this one:

The reason we started with a US road legal F 430 is that, that is the only way to eventually wind up with a US road car. We're going through the same process as we did with P 4/5 which started with a US Road Legal Enzo.

Starting with an Enzo wouldn't have worked because V 12's aren't fuel efficient and at the 24 of Nurburgring that matters with 16 mile laps. Carbon Fiber Tubs are also not allowed at the Ring. The class we can run in EXP1 is basically allowing us to run Ferrari F430 GT2 specs. with a body similar to P 4/5 not a
P 4/5 body morphed into an LMP1. We will be running against several factory teams including Porsche (918), Aston, VW, Audi, BMW, and many very talented private teams. We are simply looking to put on a good effort, have a good time and bring back a bit of the days when Privateers such as NART/Maranello Concessionaires/etc. had a chance. We also want to have a car that can drive to the track, race, and drive home.

Hope to see you guys at the Ring next June!
Looking forward to see this particular car at THE RING. I am always there for the 24h.

This car will ad to the great diversity of race cars at the ring. The F430 seems to be a reliable base for a long distance race car.

To everybody's surprise, a privately run F430 made it to 2nd place at the last 24h race at Nürburgring while many of the Porsches and Audi R8s retired.

Best of luck for this highly exiting project !!!

Can't wait to see it, if it is even remotely similar to Michiel van den Brink's concept it should be fantastic:

Fantastic - can't wait to see the finished product.

Does anybody recognise the program that the screenshot was taken from? I'm curious to know what software such a company uses.
Looks like AutoDesk Alias Automotive with SolidWorks.

Thank you so much, James, for letting us follow the development of the new car. It's been a pleasure reading you here and in ferrarichat. You're making happy more people than you realize.

Would it have made more sense to buy a

Because the FXX is most certainly not a race car.

Interesting and I see the limitations have set the direction.

However I'd have fancied a FXX twin turbo myself. No need to fluff about with styling either - just matt black paint please

Epic. I dread to think of the amount of money that would be needed to get into the ultra exclusive one-off fezza club, never mind to come back for a second time to make a racing version!

What has Ferrari's reaction been to this out of interest?

They used to be known for being less than pleased with customers who created Bizzas smile

Great car though, and I fully understand why you would want to be able to drive it on the road once you've taken the numbers off. True PH stuff, you and the guys behind it should be very pleased with the fruit of your labours!

We shall see. The last time I spoke with them they did say:

"We hear you have a new project..."

I enjoy how it takes someone else to do what Ferrari SHOULD be doing. I suspect Ferrari will denounce it unless they are already assisting in some way.

I do like these rumors about a one off v12 458.

Well, I for one certainly don't see it doing any harm. You're using one of their best recent designs on top of a already existing Ferrari which definately have the performance to go with it.

In no way should it devalue the brand, they already did that themselves with some st theme park in UAE. ranting
