RE: Driven: Wiesmann MF5 Roadster
Discussion
that sonax MF3 is ofcorse way different then the MF4 and MF5 cars...
also that MF3 sonax car may be repainted by some? or just an old car? or to often polished...
you can't compare such car to their cars from their factory...also the quality of Wiesmann is way higher then from a TVR, I know both....and I love TVR too (had 2 of them)

First unlikely as I've known it from nearly new - second the defects were under the paint. It's far easier to do a good top coat spray job than a perfect preparation of what's underneath - especially GRP...also that MF3 sonax car may be repainted by some? or just an old car? or to often polished...
Looking at what else is on the market, for all their faults TVR were actually pretty darn good at GRP shell preparation and finishing (the odd howler excepted around the time pressure to get cars out the door was rising to significant levels).
When the very first LHD - Dutch buyer - Sag was produced they forgot to put the bonnet buldge just on the right place in the roof . . . ouch and ouch!
That was over 50 hrs of work down the drain . . . well, sort of. Owner paid Blackpool a visit to see how his car was progressing: and had to point the team chef out what he saw.
It illustrates so well how things worked at TVRs.
Anyways, any TVR is not a match for the W'mann.

I have been admiring, sadly from afar, this machine for some time now. And this review makes me lust even more so. It's beautiful, powerful, simple and sophisticated both. Not sure if the BRG/Tan leather would be better than this rolling ice cream cone. I think I'd prefer the latter. With the 10 cylinder of course. If only it could be had with a third pedal and a proper 6-speed. Sadly neither the manual or it sitting in my driveway is likely to happen. But I'd gladly have one ahead of an F-car or Lambo.
