lovely, reminds me of the Porsche 909 'Bergspyder' ahttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porsche_909_Bergspyder a lardy 385kg with a 2litre flat 8
The 909 Bergspyder was, as the name implies, built solely for Mountain Hillclimb events. It only had to run a few miles, so didn't even have a proper petrol tank. No mirrors either, of course. Here it is in the new Porsche museum.

Dug up the old Spartan thread to mention that it is being shown at the Sydney Motorcycle & Scooter show in Australia from November 25-27.

It looks like the weight has increased and the price has increased.

The weight is now 350Kg and the price is now $110,000 Aud.

Still a nice car though.

Interesting to catch up on the last few pages of this thread.

Definitely food for thought for my future toy.

Oh Im shocked, the weight claim has been revised! hehe I still predict it will tip the scales at significantly more than 350kgs when they put everything on it required to make it move though.

Other than a carbon body its all simple cottage industry stuff with off the shelf shiny bits, there's nothing that differentiates it from a very well specced £10-12k bike engine'd kit car (Sylva Phoenix etc) let alone something like an Atom 300 whch is still only half the price of this. The £70k they're asking is BAC Mono territory and the comparison in technology there is stark.

"approx 350kg" smile

Much as I love the idea of the Ducati lump, it does seem a pretty hefty chassis.

If you look in gallery two image 5 of the cockpit you can see that there is no front panelling on the chassis i.e. you can see the wheel I guess that's how they are Keeping it so light.
