....would you rush to your local shiny showroom, chequebook in hand, or head to your chosen classifieds?

I was just asked, and all I could answer was a list of classics or modern classics. I guess that means it's the classifieds for me. If my numbers ever come up I'll be the chap with the late 80's Aston and a Morris Ital......

Classics for me too... Although what they'd be I'd have to sit down and think.

I'd keep my old car. Now I can afford a new car I don't want one and it will be nice to have a 7 figure bank account and a car on the drive worth a few days interest.

Definitely classfieds, to fill several garages full of classic Italian machinery. And some TVRs thrown in too for good measure smile

I'd go the custom one off route. Perhaps go to RUF and get them to build me something special. How about circa 600bhp and AWD in a 356 shell hehe

For me I think it would have to be a "car finder" type chap.

Just because the main cars I'd buy are ones where I'd need advice on what chassis numbers to buy. . . .

Of course, there is one thread would have to post on for some friendly PHers assistance

Both for me....

Zonda, AM DBS, Porsche 911 GT3 RS, some sort of family wagon, plus a few others

Then there's the older stuff...

Lacia Delta Intergrale, BMW E30 M3 EvoII, Audi UR Quattro, plus a load I've probably forgotten

Then the bikes......

about 7 would do

And of course, whatever other stuff I wanted....

An immaculate F40 for starters

Would depend on the answer to two questions . . . .

Is this millionaire some lucky person who's won the lottery or somebody who's worked for the cash? . . . . . IMHO a lottery winner may be more likely to head to a dealer for instant gratification, whereas somebody who's worked up to it, is likely to already have a decent car and would be more likely to wait until the right car at the right price turned up

Are they shopping for a car to use everyday or a toy? everyday car = new from glass and concrete showroom, Toy = whoever has the car they want smile

If I'd won a significant amount on the lottery it would be straight down to the nearest dealer as I would want something to drive around in as I went and saw my family and spread the wealth, I would then take my time finding the rest of my dream garage

OK, so I might buy a GT3 and a Range Rover Supercharged but the rest would be used.

... and an ex-F1 car for track days. An 80's era turbo would do nicely. Plus track tuition for a decade might be an idea hehe
