That's what I thought, too.

So, what is this for then? Did Chris Nolan commisioned it for the next Batman movie?
Otherwise it's pretty pointless.

+1 though I couldn't remember the name of it; thanks!

I love it! No chance of production, but it's still awesome. The "4 wheeled trike" thing works, IMO. That way, it could have the handling characteristics of the CanAm Spyder or T-Rex, but you wouldn't have to get a motorcycle license to drive it.

I'm still waiting on someone to build a production car with in-hub electric motors. Simplified 4wd, limitless packaging possibilities, and no need for traditional brakes.

Looks like the seats 'open' with the doors!?!

Interesting getting in trying to close the door whilst not chopping your legs off dangling in mid air...
Was thinking the same myself!!! Would you have to sit on the seat, push with one foot and pull you legs into a tuck so not to chop them off as it swings shut.

Can't imagne any ladies in short skirts enjoying the experience biggrin

Ruined by the Peugeot badge.
This is a stunning, special design. Record braking in an electric car.
Peugeot make some crap now, but they have existed for 200 years and I can honestly say they have about 10x more desirable cars than they have crap.
This car, whoever makes it, should be applauded.

If you registered on here just to say that it's ruined by the Peugeot badge, it must be true what they say about the standard of PH.

Sadly i think if you removed the badge, People would struggle to even identify who made it

nice idea, but the current peugot range is 10000 miles away from this

It's the same with the Citroen GT concept, turns head's but nothing more ,The designs go nowhere

Shame really.

? Isn't that the same with the BMW concept, miles away from the current range?

And I do think there are several design cues from the Citroen GT in the DS3 for example.

Also, this seems to be the "new" face for peug on their latest concepts, so very possible to see design cues filter through in the near future.
Remember, a "halo" model or even a concept comes first with the designs, afterwards filtering through to the lower range. There are millions of examples of that. (ex the SLR and later on the SLK face...)

Edit: To add to that, everybody is moaning (and rightfully so) about the "blobbyness" and overgrown design on the current range (207,308,...), but when they produce a vehicle looking like this, maybe with the intention of filtering the design through the range, the same people go on an on about it doesn't even look like a peugeot and they should stop pretending.

Peugeot can't win, can't they? Yes, it's miles away from what they produce. Yes, it would be hard to identify without a badge (but so would be an NSX or an S2000 imho, a shame Honda ever made either??). I can think of no reason why this thing, like the NSX shouldn't be applauded? It shows that, in the end, there are some people in the 200 yo firm that still care about cars.
It's the stigma they have now that just keeps them in the bland eurobox market that they have created.

355bhp sounds exciting, but what ever happened to the mini development that had 600bhp and a motor in each wheel?

Anyone know?

+1 with the tumbler, would be nice to see it on the road.

But there is need for brakes even with in-hub motors.

Did someone notice the handbrake?
I think the nanny EU would still want a back-up brake system, if the electronics may go wrong. But your point is excellent.

The French have never been able to design a good-looking car.

The Citroën concept is unusual, striking even, but hideous.
The DS3 is not too bad, but much too high, especially when seen from the front with its sidelights on (stolen styling detail from Aston Martin).
The DS19 was very unusual, modern perhaps, but absolutely ghastly. I felt sick in it anyway.

Oh yes, the Peugeot coupés!
No, they are Italian designs.

The little Alpine Renault was amazing, racy, efficient, but not exactly beautiful...

The Facel Vega II is the only French car I would like to have.

And this latest Peugeot is hideous. Just like their monospace Citroën twins (these are probably the ugliest things on wheels!)

Something people always seem to forget about concept cars: It's very rarely showcasing what the manufacturers are going to put in the showrooms next. The BMW Efficient Dynamics concept is not really about the look of the car. The striking exterior is just to give websites and magazines some pretty pictures to print along with the info about the drive-train, which is the real story in both the case of the BMW and this.

Forget what it looks like (although I personally quite like it), the outer packaging is just a cherry on top of the real story, which doesn't grab headlines or make it to the front page of magazines.

Fantastic looking machine! If you saw one of those whizz by you'd think you'd accidentally wandered onto a film set. It's depressing that nothing like it will ever get into production...probably. Peugeot are neeearly making some very good looking cars these days. Loose the company face and a bit of flab and things would greatly improve.

20Cup and Asphalt spring to mind. It seems that Peugeot does these things for their own amusement, though perhaps the front will point to the way to the development of the design language.

First that comes to mind: Traction Avant. Gorgeous looking thing, even against it's own-age counterparts.
Oh and the DS.

If you don't like the look of the DS3, 3dr 306/205 or C6, then fine, all I can say is beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I for example really don't like the look (headlights) of the MINI.

Anyway on the latest Mini, I agree.
The Citroën Traction Avant isn't exactly ugly, but compared to most other cars of the same period, I don't like it very much.
The DS is amazing, but rather a swollen frog, and somehow cheap-looking too.

Even the Facel I admire... has a fake wooden dashboard: painted imitation wood on tinplate! So to say for security, because real wood has splinters in case of accident.
Sheet metal isn't dangerous?

The Peugeot 205 was neat, O.K., but wasn't it again Pininfarina design?

Yes you're right! Very neat and elegant. But is it a French design...
