RE: SOTW: BMW 635CSi
Discussion
jeez this would be an absolute money pit. rest assured the engine, IF maintained, will cover double those miles no worries at all. i went in an M635csi not long ago and it was superb (albeit a far better example than this) and it was doing 2800rpm at 90mph....rest assured these could sit all day at 100mph with no effort. the less said about fuel consumption the better though...
i'd never buy one for under 1k in a million years though!

As the previous owner of the last 6 series to have the honour of 'Shed of the Year 2006' it's great to see another one make shed of the week. Don't sell it though. I still regret selling mine nearly 4 years ago!!! You'll miss it when its gone. Now, knowing what goes wrong with them.....950 drinking vouchers is tempting.....if only it was another red one!

Didn't the 3430cc have around 215bhp?
Rushing to the office as we speak...Bloody rare to find an ad under estimating bhp

12 previous owners?
It's C reg, so 84 I think. Or 26 years old, which means on average its been owned for 2 years per owner.Edited by hora on Friday 24th September 09:29
Which considering there a multiple threads on here how people get bored of their cars and change them every 3 to 12 months would seem not too bad IMO.
This is a true modern classic and everyone who loves cars should own one at some point. Mine was Cyrus blue with dark blue leather. I loved every part of the ownership experience right up to the point where vandals trashed it.
The one in the add looks a bit nasty though, and I would suggest spending a bit more on one with better paint and original wheels (or good period after market ones). This generation of BMW is easy to maintain and repair on a budget as far as mechanicals are concerned, but be aware of the cost of bodywork, trim and glass. Mechanicals are mainly E28 the rest of the bits are unique.

Don't these engines last forever?
Yes. it's an M30, if well maintained they'll see well over double 140k without any issues at all. i've been in a car with a 3.4 M30 (an old 735i) which had over 300k miles on the clock (320k iirc) and it was still pulling like a train up to its rev limiter.I can't take the credit for that. It's in the advert.
It's better than CAR Magazine's Diablo SV video on Youtube where it was spelt Lambourghini.
Looking at Hugo a Gogo's Moonlighting poster Willis's head looks too big for his body, or his body looks too small for his head? Hollywood 'artists' predate Photoshop noodlers?
