The Elaine Paige will be the Lotus for people who need a two seater with room for four and will feature a folding metal engine. This model will boast the power and performance of a sustained wolf attack whilst its interior quality will be at least a match for the feeling of confusion experienced when taking the first sip from what appears to be a cup of tea but turns out to be coffee. This car will compete with Radio 2 on Sundays and with itself for the rest of the week

With this new announcement today
http://www.autosport.com:80/news/report.php/id/886...
So to recap then , they are set to have 2 teams in GP racing next year ( one unofficial but with cars built close by in Norfolk and we are told carrying the same name ).
An indycar team
2 teams at Le Mans one in LMP 2 and one in GT2
7 all new road cars that is 5 new sportscars from £45,000 - £140,000 plus a new city car at about £25000 plus a new Lotus 7 replacement.
plus this new Proton Lotus announced on this forum yesterday
http://www.pistonheads.com/lotus/default.asp?story...
Then an entirely new racing circuit at Hethel licenced to be open to the public for race meetings with a whole new pits paddock complex to current FIA spectator safety standards.
So just where is all the money coming from for this programme unprecedented in the history of the motor industry . Certainly in excess of a billion pounds maybe a very great deal more.
Don't say Proton because you can go to look at their recent results on the web for the last few years they have reported losses.
Are we to believe all this will happen ?

That Protus is just a concept car with no official line on whether it will ever be built. My guess is not.http://www.pistonheads.com/lotus/default.asp?story...
If Danny Hoo Har actually pulls this off he will indeed be the master of illusion.
Hopefully a Lotus World in Norfolk is already being planned. With a rollercoaster that goes even faster than the one in Abu Dhabi does (always wanted to end a sentence with that!). For any confused readers, Danny Bahar was responsible at least in part for 'Ferrari World'.

You know what, balls to it.
If this was an unheard of company with no experienced folk on board i'd be inclined to say it's hocus pocus.
They've got the backing (seemingly), the name and the staff.
I reckon they'll do it. Lotus for world domination 2012
Sod that, Lotus for Prime Minister! If they can pull of all the jobs listed above, they have earned the right to run the country. If this was an unheard of company with no experienced folk on board i'd be inclined to say it's hocus pocus.

He also divulged that we can expect replacements for the Exige and Evora by 2015 or 2016, with a newly-developed platform and engine at the heart of things. No confirmation about whether the platform will be a carry-over or evolution of that from the Paris cars.
That could be taken to mean both that it wont be VVA. It could also be taken to mean that they're developing their own engine, however unlikely that sounds.delays said:

Besides, surely that engine got capped along with the 5-car plan?

True - and that's a shame. The plan was always incredibly ambitious - and I couldn't quite see the brand stretching to the Eterne luxo-barge - but a new Elise and Esprit would have been an excellent starting strategy.
There were stories flying about the 'Net (probably from armchair experts) that the V8 was as good as ready. It was earmarked for the new Esprit.
Zimmermann was certainly hailed as a talented engine designer and builder, so I hope he's not been disillusioned by the recent developments at the company.
