Looks like an uglified Scirocco.

Not one of their better recent efforts.

Front looks a bit like a mitsubishi evo x and rear looks like a slightly squashed a5 sport hatch thing. Don't see why all these manufacturers need to play on their past heritage for producing modern cars. Design is supposed to evolve and change otherwise all cars will look like variations of a model t or horse and cart! Seems to be following the Hollywood trend of regurgitating old stuff because designers/writers have no more imagination

Like the rear. I 'get' what the designers were trying to do with the more angular C pillar lines.

Front is ugly and ruins it for me. Surely there was a softer 'old school' front end for the designers to work into the front?

Manufacturers are looking to their heritage for new designs simply because all the current "progression" evolutions are turning the entire car marketplace into some vague euro/jap bland look-alike mush horribleness and people are saying things like "why doesn't someone make something different like they did in the 1980s".

Incidentally, it IS a proper 4x4 transmission not Haldex.

Looks great.

Isn't there a hint of Corrado in that rear 3/4s view?
I was just about to post that it looked like the bastid love child of an A5 and a Corrado (Thankfully I took a quick read through first)
yes

Scrap the 'Quattro' idea, and forget VW ever tried a new Scirocco. The VAG group should just release this as the new Corrado and be done.

Love the rear screen, bold move to go that square and flat.

ETA: pic of my old Corrado as a comparison;

Don't like the clash of straight lines (old quattro) to curves (A5, etc). Rear lights and drop-off on the rear windows especially highlight this. Shame. frown

I imagine that both the front and rear will get Audi-ized. Which, oddly, I think will improve it's look. Imagine it with an RS6 style fornt bumer and rear lights.

This is a much better way for a car company to play on it's past heritage.

Take a few styling cues from the original (in this case ur quattro) and wrap them into a handsome cutting edge design. This is (for me at least) much more preferable than regurgitating a design of yesteryear such as Mini, VW Beetle etc.
And if it has the 5cyl engine - or most importantly that soundtrack we all know and love from the previous quattros - it will be very hard to resist.

(Yes, I know the TT RS has the stright-five soundtrack, but still looks a bit effete IMH.)
At the danger of being accused of some kind of 'love in' - I agree 100% Mr Digga!
Audi - get it built!!

Now that would be much more consistent... but then it'd surely just look like a slightly smaller A5. Hmmmm.

Looks a LOT more like a modern take on a Corrado than a UR Quattro! For that reason, I like it biggrin

A 402bhp turbocharged inline 5 isn't decent?
