What private plates do you have?
Discussion
Haven’t got a private plate but would like to have one, some day, when the right one pops up.
We do have my father in laws plate. He passed recently and we sold his S class, but he had S888TMS.
S for S class, triple 8 because he’d spent the best part of his career in Hong Kong and 8 is a lucky number there. Last three were his initials. I’d quite like to have it on the wife’s car, but she doesn’t know if she wants to yet.

Many years ago, I owned an M3 which came with M3 BHW plates. Then I got into an argument with a concrete wall - the wall won and the M3 was written off. I kept the plate on retention because I thought it might be worth something. I can't see me ever buying another M3 so I really should look into getting rid of the plate.

I have a Jaguar. It's justification and function is effortless long distance cruising which it accomplishes well and I keep it for that. It spends most of its time out of sight in in the garage and on the rare occasions I do use it I'm happy that as a obsolete 19 year old example it's certainly not on anybody's radar as any sort of status symbol. The car I much prefer for everyday use is a scruffy old space shuttle mileage Skoda diesel that nobody would even look twice at which of course is much cheaper to run than the Jaguar and has functional practicality in spades.
I also have investments which provide an income. I own a cheap watch that tells me what the time is equally as well as an expensive one and a small house that I can live in just as happily as a much bigger one and a very basic phone that I can call or text somebody just as easily as I could on a more sophisticated one .
They're all simply tools for the job to me. Nothing more.
Yes. You’re a boring tt, already established. Now stop trolling every thread about number plates, there’s already a stpile of a thread running for that gramps.I have a Jaguar. I have ED05 AMG on my E63. My name is Ed, so Edds AMG kind of works. Picked it up cheap from the DVLA.
I am probably going to pick up J40 KFH for my Son (Jack FH) as that’s cheap too! Although, he is only 5 at the moment l, so I’ll put it on another car for now.
If I can find another Ed who owns an AMG, I’ll sell my plate as my next car won’t be another Mercedes.

I bought this one, to reflect my user name, back in 2005, not least because the standard plate was a bit crap (and yes, it is legally spaced).
I just bought this one, for much the same reason - the standard reg ended PDU, which looked rubbish. Though vaguely tempted by LV57 FER to "match", I just went for the "Series 111" and initials although of course, it isn't a Series 3.... First one bought for the daily as I've liked all my previous standard plates.

Bought DAV 13J for my wife's 40th birthday. Her name is Jo Davis. Had it arranged on her Land Rover Defender rear square plate as DAVI3 and then J below. Bit chav but we liked it as you could only do that on a Defender (or old Disco). Now it is properly spaced on a BMW 1 series. Always surprised how many (positive) comments the plate has got over the years.
