At £33k, I'd take a new Lancer Evolution X over this.

+1. Normally Jap rally reps styling doesn't bother me in view of their ability, but that is vomit inducingly horrendous.

There is a white one in the local dealers, think it looks so much better than the hatch, but still think the Impeza`s days are numbered, don`t see anywhere as near the amount of newer shaped one`s out and about, then again the hatch is damn ugly.

Owned a few, driven many, and its pretty much the same story with all of them. The interior is an after thought, the styling....ok maybe style is the wrong word, and they are nasty to drive on the road.....good for the track though. Saying that, I could think of quite a few cars I would rather spend that sort of money on, that would be decent to drive on the road, and quick enough round a track.

There's a good reason though. They haven't imported any for 2 years and stocks ran dry ages ago. I've grown really quite partial to my ugly 330S. To the extent I actually like the way it looks now. It's entirely function over form. The saloon does nothing for me though. It looks like an MG ZS to my eyes, and the price is a joke. I know it's exchange rate linked, but it's now £6000 more to buy than in 2008 before you even consider PPP and the options list.

Knot looking to bad inside and up front, but my god anywhere past the mid section is shocking. Anyone thought chevrolet larceti at the back? Go back to old school at the back and I'm sure it will turn a few heads.

The steering is still an electric setup and initially it's hard to feel anything but with the wider wheels it is a big leap over the previous model. It's very similar to my old Hawkeye STI which was probably as good as electric racks can be. It's light but very accurate and after 5 mins threading through Warwickshire countryside it was second nature.
Steering isnt an electric rack, it's a hydraulic power steering system with variable assistance.
