No,Fiat are right,the KTM option is cheaper than the Elise.Just compare the KTM car to the Lotus 2-11.Same price,same niche class,similar design and layout,power-to-weight ratio,etc.Even without the expensive extras the KTM has carbon tub and highly tunable VAG lump.It seems even cheaper,considering that it is better and bespoke platform,built by Dallara,unlike the Lotus one,used in at least six different Lotuses,Vauxhalls and Teslas.

Except that the most basic X-Bow is 12k more than a 2-11 (or actually 45k more for a fully loaded 'Superlight' one with the carbon ) and substantially slower.

Since the X-Bow chassis has no mounting points for a windscreen or roof, no doors unless you substantially re-engineer the tub and seats moulded into the floor I find it hard to see how the Fiat is ever going to use 'the X-bow chassis'.
