+1 awfull car hehe
+2 Absolute scensoredt.biggrin
Actually I'm going to +3 that; had a rental slow diseasel scenic recently and the thing actually slowed itself down at speed limits if it wasn't down hill. Not only that but it was truly rubbish - funny though!
+1000

Truly horrendous, even more so in the 1.4 petrol guise.

Proton Triple Valve (Bypass)

I'd rather walk.
Back in 1990 or so a mate pitched-up in one of these; it had just been acquired by his Old Man.

Me: "Jesus, Steve, why did your Dad buy an '80s automotive abortion like this? How old is this thing? I thought he was getting a new car?"

Steve: "It is a new car..."

Only passengered in it, but I recall that at 70 on the motorway flooring the throttle in top did absolutely nothing other than increase the noise level slightly.

The car was called the 'Saga' on the domestic market. Sums it up, really. Other Proton classics included the 'Putra' and 'Tiara'.

I owned one of these :

Biggest pile of st I ever owned. Spent more time off road than one. It seemed to have a continuous radiator, water pump/temperature gauge/ fk know what/ heat problem twice a week. £400 to get it through it's last MOT before I scrapped it 10 months later. Money Pit
Ha, I had one of those before it had major HGF. It always leaked coolant and oil. It broke down in spectacular fashion on the M25 in roadworks with no hard shoulder! It was scrapped shortly after but only lost £50 on it and I liked it for some reason smile

Hardly any of the cars mentioned above are even contenders for the worst car ever.

I'd suggest something along the lines of the ZAZ-966, which was considered an extremely poor car even in Soviet Russia:

Closer to home, some of the shorter-lived cyclecar manufacturers would have offered even worse things for sale, but wouldn't have sold many before going bust.
It's actually quite charming and fun to drive. Also rear-mounted V4 aircooled engine. WHat's not to like? rotate

I once had the great misfortune to drive a Nissan Stanza.
It must have been nearly 30 years ago... the bad taste still lingers and nothing has been quite so awful since.
Gopping red interior... even the seatbelts were in burgandy
Push button heater controls that were all or nothing
A radio and a casette player.. both could be played at the same time
More understeer than a snowlough trying to clear grease off the road
The engine - nuff said

It was a traumatic experience... and I cannot forget.

BMC allegro yes.
Nope
My first car was a 1300 Allegro, fitted a 1750 Maxi engine- much better round the twisty bits than my mates Capri. Great Q car.
My vote would go to BMW X6-whats it all about? or a Talbot Rancho.

Some off the top of my head
Vauxhall Frontera
Pontiac Aztec
Merc A140 blue efficiency (Had one as a courtesy car and it was horrific considering what they cost, it was slow, noisy, badly put together with cheap interior materials and yet still only did 33 mpg)
ssangyong rodius
ssangyong stavis
Kia amanti
BMW X1/X3/X6

Given a choice between two 3 box saloons.

Lada Riva
Volvo 240

It's not the volvo that's going to be the worst.
