Agree- Bin those wheels and have some made like the originals- only bigger (not too much) to house the brakes.

Love both this one and the V10 one but I wonder what a ZR-1 engined one would be like?

Give them some credit - theres every chance that those wheels are just to stop the sparks when they move it around and are whatever was handy and fitted the hubs.

Great idea though, and what a car the Interceptor is, with possibly the coolest name ever in retro kind of way

Girl - "what car do you drive?"

" A Jensen Interceptor. Vee-eight" (Vee ten in this case!)

Girl - "swoon"

Sometimes there is an element of religious type Dogma on here, because something is old and well thought of does not mean it escapes getting changed, you are focussing on the wheels and ok they may not be the most stunning design but they need the size as mentioned and we need to see the finished article.

I was hoping this was a total remake of the original, not just a one off !

Its a great idea gone too far again, stick with the 'making it better' philosophy and stop it with the chav to the max, even the engine choice is wierd, even more weight.........

See what you are saying there, what about the new Lambo V12? 700hp and less than 250 kg.

Interesting you should say that... because Cropredy's successors ( these guys) are going to let us take one of their latest LS-engined cars for a spin soon... which will be nice...

It is an interesting idea and it will make a very fast car, but the wheels are just dreadful and the arch extentions remind me of the "Big Bertha" development car. This is not a compliment.

The standard car is so beautiful.

Insane engine (& choice of engine), as a one-off I suppose you'd want to go to the extreme. I personally would have gone for something a little more readily available and serviceable, the Audi 4.2 V8 perhaps, they still sound glorious with a good exhaust set up.

If you ever went in to a limited production I think more would sell with a powerplant along those lines, still kicking out far more power than the original.

cant say ive heard of any 500bhp viper engines being mated to a 4 speed autos, so i hope the gearbox, diff, drive shafts, etc have been toughened up a bit

The car will probably be more reliable with that engine linked up to a big beefy auto, rather than a manual box, I'd imagine.

The article about the Interceptor S said:
Seventeen-inch wheels, in the style of the originals but of larger diameter, leave space for much bigger six-pot AP brakes and wide modern rubber
