Really love the 8C, has to be one the best stock sounds ever. But eventually I'd go for the 599, especially the HGTE is just so unbelievably pretty and probably the best GT in the world. Don't really like the looks of the DBS, DB9 looks a lot better imo.
I know each our to their own but ive never heard a 599 be described as that!k-ink said:
Aston's are lovely, but they are simply too common just like every other VW Bentley, Gallardo, and all the usual suspects. The best thing about the 8C is the looks, but closely followed by the fact you'll probably never see more than one on the roads.
really!Aston make ~4k cars a year in total world wide! 70% go to export.
Porsche make that many 911's in a month!
I do 30k miles a year and can go weeks with out seeing an Aston.
I see Bentleys most days and Gallardo frequently.
The 8C is a looker from the front, the rear 3/4 is not right and the interior is low rent IMHO
I'd not put £130k in to it I'd rather have a V12 Vantage or DBS Volante

Talking about depreciation... Check out the Veyron's in the classifieds... But i suppose if you can afford a veyron you dont really care about it losing a couple of hundred thousand £ in less that 1000 miles!
In fairness buying any of these cars because they hold their value is a misnomer.10% drop on an 8C is still a small family car

Complete agree with the previous post. The 8C price is a smokescreen with big differences in ask/buy prices. Also the buildt quality is really poor. Try to line up a V8 Vantage and an 8C next to each other and there is a world of difference. I tried that at HWM Walton on Thames that sell both marques and the attention to detail on the Aston is in a different league.
The guy that changed the tracker on my car told me Astons have the worst build quality going in the premium world. Everything that the customer can see looks nice but underneath its a complete mess and a nightmare to deal with. The guy spends his week going from one exotic to another servicing tracker units and had pics of Zondas/SLS/Weismanns etc on his phone( I mention the MB SLS because at the time virtually no cars had been delivered), so I'd value his opinion. As for real world 8C prices, there was one up at a Ferrari dealer for that sort of money about 6 months ago and it went in a week.
Check mobile.de for euro prices 150-210k euros.

If I emigrated there'd be a decision to make, but paying £100k+ plus for a car that the manufacturers clearly didn't want me (or half the world's drivers) to buy...No thanks

"Crippling disability"?Feels odd for the first couple of hundred miles, after that it's no more than slightly troublesome at car park barriers / bridge tolls.

Thought i'd post a picture of an 8C that i took in the NEC
Nice to see that again, and wondered where it had ended up, as I had the pleasure of that particular car living in my garage for 6 months. Whilst the 8C both looks gorgeous and sounds even better [Clarkson]God clearing his throat[/Clarkson], I had to get rid for a number of reasons;1) It's a big car, and in the rural area where we live, narrow lanes populated by lunatic tractor drivers and a carbon fibre body do not mix well together.
2) It is not exactly the sort of car you could run down to the shops for a pint of milk in, or leave it unmolested in Tesco's car park, given the green eyed monsters that populate this island. Sadly, I am not in a position to be a collector and have that much wedge tied up in a car sitting in the garage that only goes out once in a while to somewhere like a Goodwood supercar Sunday.
3) Lastly, as someone said above, the interior is very plasticy, badly thought out and it has the most uncomfortable car seats I have ever sat in; they simulataneously create backache, numb bum and a dead leg. Long journeys were purgatory.
All much like a gorgeous but high maintenance woman; fab to look at, but a pain to live with. Shame really as I waited for 2 years for delivery too
