I don't know of how much help this is but I'm in Brighton myself and quite a few times now I've seen a red 69 Corvette parked in the Falmer campus of the university of Brighton. Could be a long shot but might be worth calling the university to see if anyone knows the owner. I'll keep an eye out for it myself again, and see if anyone I know there has any idea of who owns it.

Another free bump.

Echoing what others have said I'm willing to make a contribution to this worthy cause, even if it's just towards fuel for someone who has the required type of car.

PM me if it we start collecting.
Great responses from everyone. I'm guessing we need to see what the wishes of Driving_me_nuts and his lady are, then organise the collection accordingly?

So far we have a few ideas to follow up, but not sure what to do next.

I played banker when we did the collection for Emsman's lad. As and when there is agreement on a plan, I don't mind doing the same again, I've got a semi dormant bank account I used last time. Ideally it needs someone to do similar to collect via Paypal. Obviously it requires a level of trust, I've been around a while though and I'm a solicitor so you can verify me via the Law Society website.

It would be lovely if we could sort the car for Lily and see perhaps whether there is something else Lily and Russell would like - a "make a wish" moment perhaps? (many of us have racing driver contacts for instance...?). Clearly it needs to be something that Lily is up to?

Perhaps if there was a bit of money left over, we could make a donation to the hospital where Lily is being treated?

Just some thoughts...

Sounds ok to me, would it be ok to send a cheque?

Yep, cheque would be OK.

We need some feedback from Russell really to see how he feels about all of this...

OP's Occupation;

OP said:
I run a rather pragmatic business with my partner.

It is designed to help people overcome issues affecting the quality of their life, from Business leaders and those living their lives in the public eye, people coming to terms with cancer, life limiting issues like grief, relationships, divorce, to taboo and serious and life threatening illnesses.

I work with people with a range of issues; Bipolar, depression, eating disorders, those coping with stress and stress related illnesses and those who choose to no longer be 'victims' of rape and abuse and want to be pragmatic rather than 'therapied' or 'counselled'.
OP definitely deserves the help, lets help him.

I have a friend with a very noisy and quick 74' red Corvette (same shape as 69') who I'm sure would help, being a long term cancer sufferer himself, but he's away for next 10 - 12 days in OZ.. I'll try and contact him...

Otherwise happy to help join in with any run up from Brighton, or take her for a fun ride in my very noisy pink trackday 77' Camaro .....

I reckon a PH yank cruise to Brighton and multiple rides are in order myself.. .. Happy to organise if needed. Just give me some date option sand people willing to participate..

Good luck OP.

If I can help I will.
I can donate?
I have trailers/car transporters and 4x4's to move said cars to right locations?
I have a beavertail available at very short notice if said owners prefer to move vehicles?
Either way I am happy to help.
