Not seen many of these around - just one or two.
One of them parked outside the local hair salon, and I'm not joking

The Silver one in the advert is being sold by a place called Target Cars, based in Eindhoven, NL.

Avoid like the plague.

I went there to look at a couple of TVRs about 18 months ago.

Its a bloody big warehouse on the airport - no reception to speak of, ring a bell and a couple of dodgey looking pikeys appear from out the back.

The warehouse itself is jammed full of all sorts of cars (parked haphazardly and almost on top of each other). Cars are mainly on UK plates, which is a little strange in the middle of NL. You are left to it with no help from anybody and the cars I looked at were mainly st heaps with loads of damage and hardly any documents.

God knows what they are doing there as they have some serious machinery in the place - but its just incredibly, incredibly dodgy!
There the scammers like most in europe who buy all the UK writeoffs or cars with clocked mileage then sell them throughout europe!

my mate went to see a porsche gt2 they advertised it as stolen recovered, with a driver seat missing, more like it had been dodge repaired (cat c) with mileage descrepancies when he used hes brain and carried out a uk hpi check!!

They took out the driver seat and a few other bits to pass it off as stolen recovered with no damage, later he found out they brought it off a dealer down in essex as damage repaired!!!

BEWARE of them they sell alot of cars to unsuspectin europeans who distribute them all over europe and the middle east, they dont ave plush offices as they target the traders who happily shift on the cars for tidy profits no botherin abt what history theyve had!!!

Thanks for the warning! I have seen a few interesting cars on their website (TVRs mainly, and few "sensible" 335/535d) that were very keenly priced but the setting did seem dodgy and with your post I will steer well clear! beer

It's almost worth buying one now just to fit a decent set of coil overs etc and go embarrassing some trackday boys and girls.
Would be my candidate for the PH "sleeper" thread of a few years in the future. It's pretty easy to bolt a UZ into a Supra, so how difficult could it be (smile) to bolt a JZ in one of these?

I don't know:

A version of the Toyota V8 is certified for aviation use says Wikipedia.
When Mark Evans built his own aircraft in 'A Plane is Born' he used a Rover K series engine. I think you can 'fly' pretty much any engine. You just have to service them a lot more often.

Mark Evans "Er G-SHED to ATC, we appear to have hit some unexpected white cloud"

ATC "That will be your headgasket again"

It is fairly hideous, that Lexus, I remember getting blitzed by one in my old MK2 Golf GTI, fook me it shifted, reg was "T3XET" whatever that means, so they arent pretty but they do move quite nicely, shame about the image.

With its engine, its kind of like a 70 year old woman that has mysteriously a fantastic rack like an 20 year old, kind of piques your interest, but you just wouldnt unless you were 70 yourself, kind of like a more extreme version of how I feel about the Chrysler Crossfire.

'Under the bonnet, a surpassingly refined and bulletproof 4.3-litre engine.'

Pardon? What does that even mean?

It sounds like eBay listing carp to me.

'Buy now while stocks last.'

Errrr.......

Or just wait a few more weeks for a few thousand more public sector workers to join the end of the unemployment queue, the fuel costs to bite and people start realising how many things they buy have VAT on them and see stylish cars that like burning fuel drop even more in value?
It means that the engine is not coarse and revs freely under the foot. I would suggest 'bulletproof' is a reference to an engine that is solidly put together and unlikely to require trips to the garage.

I think the better question is: what are you talking about?

Good understated barge which should be very capable, individual but its better than completely bland.

Cant see how it can be called 'positively slow' though. (I suppose speed matters)

This has everything I like in a car, but I just can't get past the fish-face.

EVERYTHING else is just great.

I am currently trying to buy one instead of a rx8 , completely forgot about these and not having to save for a rebuild sort of seals it for me .

I think I'll wait till february to grab a bargain

It does seem to be one of those cars where the owners really do meet the stereotype to the letter. It's like they've printed off the job description, and they're ticking every box.

'a surpassingly refined'?

What does that mean?

The refinement surpasses that of other engines?

http://www.thefreedictionary.com/surpassingly

Adv. 1. surpassingly - to a surpassing degree; "she was a surpassingly beautiful woman"

Seems it's valid English. Seems a bit OTT to me. I've never read such an expression before. It's something that appears in the handbook translated from Japanese?

That wasn't an 'anti Semitic' comment.

No need to call Abe Fox from the ADL, AIPAC or B'nai Brith.

Nice to see Brits still have taste and know this car is fugly, characterless, soul less and generally hurl

Over here in the US however people will worship anything that has origins from the Land Of The Rising sun

Only if you are a hyper-sensitive offence-taker who doesn't know what racism is.

Quite. Anything you choose to be or do is fair game for a lampooning.

For it to be off-limits it needs to really be something you didn't choose.
