Sort of moving left to right
Petrol gauge
Aneroid altimeter so you can tell whether the pub, for instance, is at a higher elevation above sea level than your house, although going to the pub is often all down hill. This was made 20/30s by Negretti and Zambra, a well known London instrument maker and its is just beautiful.
8 day clock
Temp gauge
Ammeter
Gradient meter - a 30s motoring assessory at a time when negotiating a steep hill was something of a challenge and this shows the gradient whether going up or down, as in 1-in-3 for instance.
Various switches for dash light and lights and indicators.
Ashtray
Lap counter - 20s motoring accesory to count laps when racing, as seen on many Bentlys of the period.
Horn button
Rev counter
Speedo
Vauum gauge- connected to inlet manifold so gives an indication of the health of the engine as it basically measures its sucking power, but more importantly, its a beautiful gauge and I like it!
In regards to other comments , the car is so tiny you can read all the gauges from the drivers seat ( unlike in a modern car) and although i could have put matching gauges all lined up perfectly on the dash , i wanted a more arty steam-punk look and it to look a special, made in a shed and bespoke and unusual and unique ....u get the idea.
That second one looks startlingly Renault! So is that A for Alpine?
The Saab dash is exactly what I was talking about earlier. There was something very nice about the era where the larger cars had a dash that favoured the driver. Made for a whole ‘cockpit’ feel which I guess was the point from people like Saab.
