I think it was BMW who said anyone of their engines could fit in any of their cars. To prove this they put a V12 into a Z3.
Link? smile
Racing Dynamics used to shoehorn the V12 into the e36 Compact.
How about a V12 into an E30 http://carscoop.blogspot.com/2007/06/bmw-350i-e30-...

Shame it's not a 5.2 engine, cos then it would be a B52!

Why's everyone claiming it's gonna be too nose heavy? fundamentally, how does it differ from other cars with a V8 under the hood?

Under the hood would be a very odd place to put the engine. I would have thought that under the bonnet was more likely.

Nice! Very silly, and must have been sooooo much fun to build.

(also, note to any British enginering companys... This is why we have a lack of young engineers in the UK. Companys in other countrys offer training and make it seem like a cool job, but in the UK you just blaim the schools and uni's for giving people a genral education)
Maybe our kids are just part of the pop idle generation and just expect to win all the time....Having worked for a German auto manufacturer for 4 years up till recently, their whole culture is different, they train their staff, pay them well (even in the UK) but don't stand for any bullst. The observation from my German friends who visted was that the UK has or is turning int a service based economy and myabe we need to invest more and stop paying school leavers to sit on their bottoms and get the dole.....

I agree, this would be a fun model to design, gets students to think outside of the usual parameters and encourages creativity....top job...and no I didnt work for merc..

They have a much better apprenticeship program in Germany because you need to be qualified/licensed for most trades.

Nice bit of engineering, but it's too high for a performance car...

Like driving a wardrobe or one of Eddie Stobart's finest...
