With all the hooning about in the snow I did I have had the same problem, only on the drivers side though..

I have lifted up the carpet and stuck a 3k watt fan heater in there to dry it out.. So far so good pretty much dried out now after a few hrs. You can't see in the pic, but there is a thick felt like underlay stuck to the carpet.

The top side of the carpet still has a wiff to it, any ideas how to get rid of that?

I have one of those Vax carpet cleaning machines, was thinking of using that? Shake-N-Vac Fabreeze?

Am going to get a set of those universal thick rubber based mats from Halfords, that will keep it all dry then..

Baking powder, or bicarbonate of soda, i can't remember which

Back when it was really snowy I was dragging all sorts of wet dirt and slush into the car and it smelled like an old shoe.

Cleaning, vacuuming, drying etc seems to have it back to normal now though.

The snow melted and soaked through the roof leaving me a nice surprise when I sat in the driver's seat. I was wearing sand-coloured trousers so by the time I got to my destination, I looked like I'd had an "accident".
