Driving home last night, wife and kids in the car when I had to brake reasonably sharply behind a right turning clio who indicated at the last minute. 5 seconds later, screech, BANG! as a guy in a Passat goes into the back of me. The Fecking A$$wipe then tried to U turn in the road to get away, could not, so drives past me and shoots off! I went after him, but he's hitting over 60 on a 30 limit, going on wrong side of the road etc, and I lose him. Wife and kids in the car you see.
Luckily a witness kindly gave their details, but now I have to play the waiting game with the insurance company whilst they track this pond scum down. Reoprted to the police etc, and the damage to the BM is not too bad, superficially looks like a new rear bumper needed and thats it but don't know what further damage has been done.
Too add insult to injury, my insurance renews tomorrow, and my premium has now gone up £300.00 for the year.
I just hope they track the Ba$tard down. And relax. Had to vent!

If he is driving like that than he probably has other things to hide.

Pay for it yourself. Remember, next year's premium will be up, too, and you'll have an excess to pay, won't you?

Agree with the above unfortunately, car won't be insured or traceable.

I know the feeling. Had similar happen a few months ago. Funny how the police are meant to have all this new plate recognition tech, etc. But actually catching a criminal, no chance. I'm quickly becoming of the opinion, why bother with insurance. ste I know, but as the saying goes; if you can't beat them, join them.

No, thats the price after the crash has been taken into account. Punished for paying honestly and being a victim of some scrote, makes my blood boil.
Why can't driving without insurance carry a severe financial penalty or jail sentence?

He'd probably had a couple. If so he's weighing up DUI vs. Leaving the scene and not reporting.

Easy choice for most scummers.

I think the loading might be due to the claim being "Unresolved"...

yes

And why do things like this and vandalism have to be categorised as an "own fault" claim.

Nonsense.

yes

Too right! We did admiral multicar this year and even though it was cheaper than individual quotes, it's still £350 more than it should due to a vandalism claim.

Scumbags, the lot of 'em!

Assuming the perp has no insurance, don't forget to ask your insurance company about the Motor Insurance Bureau scheme for losses incurred due to uninsured drivers - they will be more than pleased to pass on the information.
biggrinbiggrin

Now, back in the real world, go here http://www.mib.org.uk/Submit+a+Claim/en/Default.ht... and poke around the site "just in case" the other driver dosn't have any insurance and you get the "usual" response from your insurance company.
