Toying with the idea of something like a Porsche 944. Rather than advice on the car itself, does anyone have any pearls of wisdom re. insuring a cheap sports car that of course, still fall into the highest insurance groups? Or is it just a case of shop around the usual places...? Don't think these are old enough to qualify for 'Classic' insurance but I suppose reduced mileage may help. Thoughts welcome, thanks.

You will get classic limited mileage insurance if its a 2nd (or even 3rd car). I have my 97 TVR with Hagerty , but take a look in the general TVR forum , there is an insurance sticky at the top. Most if not all of those insurers specialise in fast cars.

ETA: 5k limited mileage for a chim 450, lives on my drive ~ £400 fully comp.

If you've got multiple cars and are likely to change them regularly, what about a trade policy? I pay less on a trade policy for FC cover on any number of cars up to a nominated value that I was paying for just one Group 20 car.
