Can't help but feel sorry for OP. One of those topics that you just know isn't going to turn out quite the way they wanted.

What about a car for a Vicar's wife?

Hey, I knew what this would descend into and finding it entertaining reading...keep up the good work!

Good call on the Fabia's. I hope he isn't a snobby vicar.

Personally I would definitely not suggest he bought a diesel when only doing 3,000 miles per year.

Astra 1.8 Auto (proper auto not semi)would be a good choice. Value for money and pretty reliable.
Not all vicar's do 3,000 miles pa! He will be doing about 12,000 including high percentage of very short journeys, and some regularly massive trips to visit the family.

my mates dad is a vicar. He has a BMW 5 series touring and a chimaera 4.0 HC with a facelift mod and a few juicy engine mods.

Slightly off topic.

I once helped to sell a car to a retired vicar, like really retired.

It was 2002, I was a sales manager at BMW he bought a brand new 318ti Compact. His part exchange?

A one year old, Honda Civic Type R!

Bearing in mind at the time this car was very much most teenagers dream car, a more unlikely car and owner combo I never seen since.

Last funeral I went to the vicar rode a motorbike. Still in his leathers (they were black at least) when he did the service.

When i think of a vicars car i always think of a Citroen Piccasso

That should fill the bill

I know a vicar who has a Subaru Legacy estate, and has also had a BMW 520 Auto. Both seemed very vicarly when he was in them.

Slightly OT but a mate of mine reciently bought a one owner 1968 mini from a convent out here in Singa ...

When he popped the bonnet and had a rummage he discovered a fully race prepared Longman 1340 engine with twin big webbers!!!

It now also has a Janspeed exhaust and goes like the proverbial bat out of hell!!!

To the OP - people / vilake fete mover in auto - Honda Wish, Toyota Oddessy perhaps?
