Decided on S-Max - but diesel or petrol?

In this instance however, I'd go for the diesel.

2.5 dropped - replaced with a 2.0 turbo with 200BHP. Supposed to be a great engine with good emissions, MPG and a good turn of speed - i.e. a good balance for everything.

Lacks the burble of a '5 obviously :-(

A colleague has the Galaxy with the top spec diesel engine in it, I must say I was impressed when I drove it, a very torquey engine. His trip Computer was showing 47mpg as well, something that I have never seen anywhere near in my Ford.
