I always find the comments on these sort of things entertaining - especially for a boxster for some reason. The best ones are the "can't afford a real porsche" or "stepping stone to 911". What a load of rubbish! Most of the people who post up about 'cheap' boxsters seem to have a nice load of bargain basement wonders in their garages and state that they wouldn't buy one - well I'm sure that'll worry porsche as you must be exactly the sort of customer they were targetting. Shortly followed by a comment on how you could afford one if you wanted one

I loved the 987 I drove a couple of years ago and loved it, brilliant car. If I could afford 50K and wanted a new car I'd consider one

Not a Boxster owner but I've driven quite a few and a gen2 BoxsterS with PDK and sports chrono is a very fast car indeed A to B.

To take Clarkson's silly rectoric about the Boxster or any car for that matter and make it part of your rationale when discussing cars is at best naive and at worst infantile.

New member to the PH Forum.

I have been looking at the latest Porsche information and chat. A lot about the new special edition 'Black' versions of both the 997 Coupe & Cabriolet and also this one on the Boxster S.

I thought I would throw my two penny worth in as well (Old School you see) - all light hearted mind you !

See below my Porsche..... that's not Black (Arena Red Pearlescent) and it doesn't have a black interior (it's Classic Grey). I felt there were too many Black & Silver ones around , even from the '90s.... and I fancied something a little different.
