Camaro Ad Is 'Most Watched' Commercial Ever

'Miss Evelyn' gets all the eyes at the Superbowl (117m of them)

Another ad from the recent Superbowl, for you (seems the commercials are actually more interesting than American 'football').

This time it's Chevrolet's 'Miss Evelyn' Camaro commercial, and we're sharing it with you because it has, according to ad research company Nielsen, become the most watched advert in history, reaching the eyes of an estimated 119,628,000 viewers.

It's quite an enjoyable ad, too, partly because it's amusing - the basic premise is two creative types making it up as they go along - but mostly because it involves a Chevrolet Camaro (which is nice) and several ladies (which is also nice).

The quality of the average YouTube video... if that is the most watched commercial, the Yanks need to learn how to make a great commercial from the British.

That ad would be banned on British TV.

... you can forgive the ad when you look at the car. That is one fine looking automobile.

Possibly one of the reasons it was 'the most watched' was that it appeared late in the game, but it's true that normally the commercials are better than the game. This particular superbowl was actually a reasonably interesting game, even for a Brit.

Superbowl ads are basically your normal British ad, perhaps with a little more money spent on it. The normal ads here are all for drugs (2 seconds of the sales pitch followed by 3 mins of side effects) and 'get 2 for $20' pitchmen.

Only because showing people enjoying cars is EU anathema.

Most US car ads have the vehicle performing some decent tire smoking manoeuvres - even if it's a minivan hehe

Well I enjoyed it and would like to own such a car, so the comercial works for me.

Apart from the fuel costs, and the road fund fee being sumwhat rediculous.

guess I'll stick with my knackered old diesel.

Simply brilliant involvement from the ad makers, you can't but like the two guys talking about cars and girls and so you can't but like the car. V simple.

Bit disappointed if I'm being honest.

I was expecting it to transform into a robot and start dancing to a funky French dance chooon......

Now this is a car advert: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4dilUbkP-PI

Look at the ste we get thrown at us over here: the audi A5 swirling gently about surrounded by lines, the Z4 swirling gently around making colourful lines, some webbed-footed inbreeds calling a Renault a fanny magnet, and a fat kid talking in his dad's voice about a Vauxhall people carrier. Just...UGH.

I'm sorry, but that ad kicks ass in comparison.

...although it's got nothing on the Darth Vadar Passat advert which is one of the funniest things I've seen in a LONG time hehe

(...and which just so happens to be American too. Yup, lousy humour, them yanks).

It's sad that the first thing I thought when I saw that, as many others did judging by posts on here, was that that ad would not be allowed over here.

At least it better that that awful rendition of the US national anthem, where the melody has been swamped by vocal Olympics and pointless flourishes. Just sing the tune with feeling!!
Rant over
