He needs to be very careful. The reason people loved the zonda was because it was cliched supercar proportioned, small nose, fat a**e, totally ott, like a 14 year old would draw. Then the noise of the zonda, v12 non turbo, barely silenced, sounded like an old f1 car, if this car ends up sounding like a mid range AMG then really whats the point, it will be like a better performing spyker.

Hes obviously starting to believe his own hype having his name on the nuts and bolts, it might be like an older tech trinketised (I might copyright that word) mclaren MP4-12C.

6 euro's a bolt would probably be about right given the custom sizes and engraving. Not 60.

That was my thought too. Can't believe 15% of the purchase price goes on bolts!

About 180Keuro on bolts and 180euro on the wiring loom.
Looks like something out of an old Sierra
You wouldn't find that in a Macca F1

I can almost see the point, its an amazing thing, but it is still just that. a thing.

Over engineered? I would agree.

It doesnt bring anything new at all, its just as far as you can go with a well tried idea.

Its a work of art no doublt but I like cars not art.

I'm thinking the bolt prices might be down to an iffy translator!

I suppose the translator may have confused 60 and 16, but isn't that still a lot for a bolt to cost?

The independently computer controlled aerodynamic front and rear flaps which monitor speed, yaw, lateral acceleration, steering angle and throttle position to keep the car at it's optimum balance...?

The item in Horacios hand is the cars heart he is about to insert biggrin

Why could they not name it sensibly with so many Italian choices with meaning

Alonza = ready to do battle -- and sounds a bit Zondaesque

It does look beautifully engineered under the skin though.
I think it looks badly engineered under the skin - the quality of the welds is awful. Maybe Pagani's welder used to work at Ferrari.

Well OK apart from the welding the wiring the looks and the price, they've done a great job.

Greetings all and thanks for the feedback. As far as the bolts are concerned, yes, the price does sound pretty outrageous but that's exactly what our PR man giving us the factory tour told us. So I'm giving it to you as I was told it!

Cheers!

It looks a bit like the knock off cars the Chinese are making at the moment, the proportions look off.

exactly what I was thinking but couldn't put my finger on it, looks like one of those Geely cars - like someone copied an Italian supercar but bloated it and got all the lines a bit out; really not warming to it and a Zonda F would get more lotto win over that thing every time

And too think I had to turn down my invitation to the launch in Milan today because I had to take my kid to his potential new school. I know family comes first but I really wanted to go to this event frown

Ah well I will just have to take up their invitation to a private viewing in a few weeks time
No-one likes a Mr Boasty.
snigger, i know...What a plum

Streety, haven't you got people to take care of mundane things like schools for the kids.

mind you, with you having as much influence as you clearly have, why don't you show Horacio a picture of you stood next to a mustang. He will quickly realise that you are definitely his key demographic and will delay the car's reveal until he has had chance to personally show it to you.

PS, where are you on the times rich list, god i want to be you so much. You rock!!!

Really wasn't sure about the looks when it was first revealed, but it's slowly grown on me to the point where I quite like it. I would imagine it also looks much better in the flesh, I bet it's got great presence, something I can't imagine the Mclaren got to the same extent.

more of a 'whhyrraa' I hear ...
You are spot on...

I was at the preview in Milan (despite not being wealthy enough to keep a Huayra in tyres let alone buy one) and Pagani himself pronounced it whhyrraa (why-ra) throughout the evening

Sod the bolts. Its beautiful. It's automotive art and engineering and makes all other super car's look cheap and common. Thank God for people like Mr Pagani who can build such creations.
It's even better than the Zonda. Love it!

Still the McLaren for me, I was never really fussed about the Zonda.

Now, I have to ask, how do you actually pronounce Huayra?? HI-YO-RAH?
I'm guessing something like 'Hoo-eye-rah'

I'm glad they've given it a name like that. Small boys in playgrounds throughout the non-Spanish-speaking world are going to be having arguments over how to pronounce it.

There was one other car that did that. The king of the bedroom-wall supercars. The one by whom all visual impact is measured. The mighty Countach.

... the body kit of that final Countach of course, was the work of one H Pagani ...
