hehe If you were to end up with a *18/*20/*25 etc with a 'DXB' plate, would that be classed as 'mis-badging'?

I'd rather it had the piano black trim though rather than one that looks like your youngster has chucked up on it.

RX8 would be a good shout. So, so cheap to buy, fantastic handling, well equipped, looks good and engine sounds great at 9000RPM. And I happen to be selling one too. laugh

What's your experience of them? Nothing gone boom...

As for the 5 series; wheels make a huge difference it seems...

wheels on that 5 make it look stunning!

RX-8 would be a good shout, only shame is the fuel consumption but as your living with a T5 it wont be any worse.

apparently have to be careful not to flood the engine when making short journey, e.g. engine not warmed up fully but other than that, as a Jap car i wouldnt have thought the reliability would be too bad to be completely honest. no worse than a 5er anyways.

I've had mine just shy of a year and it's been superb, it's currently just ticked over to 46k and it's still going strong. True, many have experienced engine failure but it's always exaggerated on Internet forums. Hardly uses any oil too, but it's really , really thirsty especially in stop-start traffic which I have to endure in the mornings. On a run you'll get 23mpg, mixed is around 19 and town is about 15mpg. Great car, but does have its quirks which you need to be aware of.

I've never flooded mine, only use the correct oil and all recalls have been carried out. There are lots of RX8s on the market where people have been taken in by the bargain price and sports-car styling only to find it drinks fuel and you can't start it up and move it two metres and not switch it off. Insurance is very reasonable too, only costing me £700ish and I was 23 when I bought it with 0 NCB.

It does'nt happen. Maybe 90-120k is about fair. ( Its all in the engine design and making metal very very very super fecking hard in places ), but your ment to enjoy the strangeness of the power delivary. Needs a turbo tbh, just Vtec turned to 11 in normal trim, with worst mpg's and less reliability; long term.

Like anything seems like a compromise. One question I have is what is such a revvy engine like on the motorway... With what I have now stick it in 3rd or 4th on the motorway and you go, no matter where in the range you are you just go... I have no problem changing gear, just something I would have to get used too. I have just become accustomed to being lazy and using to torque but I could always revert back to my 1.4 16V Corsa days smile they were only 2 years ago so I don't think I've forgotten...

As for mpg... Average currently displaying 22.4 mpg. Im used to the weekly rape and pillaging of my wallet...

Guess im'm going to have to take one for a test drive smile

Will do. Mazdarese might be worth an ask on his 6 MPS. Anybody know any S60R owners?

Funny you should bring up the R36, just been looking at them on youtube. Definitely seem to shift...

ive got a budget similar to yours and im goin for a 330ci convertible, however you are younger than me so probaly require something a bit 'younger' and 'sportier'. why not go for the following:-

FOCUS ST
VW GOLF GTI MK 5
VW GOLF R32 MK 4
ASTRA VXR
SCOOY WRX OR WRX STI
EVO 5, 6, 7 OR 8
E46 M3
SEAT LEON CUPRA FR
NEW SHAPED CIVIC TYPE R
NISSAN 350Z
MAZDA RX8 231PS
FORD ESCORT RS COSTWORTH----SICKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!

HOPE THIS HELPS, im personally happy with a 330ci convertible, not riduculously fast but still fun, sporty, comfy, and a nice cruiser esp with the roof down in summer
goodluck
