A tiny bit help please....

I think you need to consider aesthetics in your research, as I for one would prefer just to use a detachable gauge than have something like those horrible caps on my wheels!
Unless you plan to integrate the indication into the valve "stem?" so it is not noticeably bigger than a regular one?

Three points, First over inflation can be as bad for tyres as under inflation.
Secondly any tyre pressure gauge must be accurate as if it is only accurate to within 2-3 psi it may not be good enough, and good accuracy mounted on the wheel possibly where it can get lost damaged or stolen.
Finally it must be safe if damaged and not cause the tyre a slow leak or to lose air.
Thanks for the thoughts. I have did first plan to make it very accurate but the then decided give it a range of 4 psi and make 4 different versions to cover from 23 to 42 psi. The idea was to have a small piece of plastic inside the valve attached to a very small spring. Depening on the pressure the spring moves a certain amount allowing either red, green or yellow to be seen through a small hole in the side of the valve. Green would be correct pressure, yellow to high and red to low.Secondly any tyre pressure gauge must be accurate as if it is only accurate to within 2-3 psi it may not be good enough, and good accuracy mounted on the wheel possibly where it can get lost damaged or stolen.

When looking into dust cap type already on the market I did read one report on amazon.com that they are prone to leaking.
