De Tomaso Pantera..... takes me right back to Top Trumps and my love of the car as a whipper snapper. How I wish it will be a good resurrection, but looking at that thing they've displayed at Geneva.... well..... maybe my hope will be dashed.

The DeAuville is for china. And what they want is big squishy cars. if it's a means to get a decent Pantera (LS9 and straight through exhausts please!) then I can certainly live with it.

I seriously hope they don't balls up the Pantera. The original is my all time fave 70's supercar and it'd be tragic if the new one turned out as duff as that other thing they're peddling.

They still couldn't manage to get the wheels to fit. The DeAuville looks more like a caricature than a car.

Please don't let this be another crushingly disappointing brand revival.
I voted a 10 as I loved the old ones and hope it will a proper revival but will be a 1 if they only make that monstrosity!

Following the original cars theme of Italian style with American power.... would a ZR1 engine be too much to hope for?
as good as the LS engines are, a better choice would be the GT40 motor, 5.4 supercharged, as they did have the foresight to fit a ford cleveland in the first place, better to keep it ford :P

guess if they wanted to stay original, they could always use the new alloy cleveland block and get someone like MME to build them up some engines biggrin

OHHHH my all time favorite dream ride, lets hope the Pantera looks better than that 5GT copy, i'd rather have a Quattroport than that.

Blown,

DT is was in fact Italian, they just used American Ford engines.

The very best combo, Italian rust & electrics plus pre-historic pushrod engines.

don't forget: de Tomaso is yank, and yanks are st at making cars.

the end

Well that is a very assinine comment isn't it... Due expand on this please. If you are referring to normal everyday cars than I'd have to agree with you, although they are improving drastically. But if your comment is directed at sports cars made by the US manufacturers you are grossly wrong in your comment. Is the Viper st? Is the ZO6? Mustang? Camaro? Etc. Last I checked the viper and zo6 can keep up with the very best of european exotica at half the cost. Reliability is better too, and running costs. Sure they don't have the same interior aesthetics, but that's their style.

So again, due indulge me, please.
