I must admit when I first saw it I thought - what on earth have they done!! But now it's slowly growing on me. I still reckon it needs to more hardcore, a bit like the XKRR of a few years back, just add rollcage, manual gearbox, subtract a few more unwanted kilos and Bob's your uncle.
BTW the AJ133 does not have flat plane crank but it still sounds incredible at full chat.

Perfect for the £6 a litre price we now have in the UK.
think you need to shop around a bit. £1.29 yesterday. Assuming you are talking about petrol of course.

I think possibly my favourite car released this year and i have a feeling it will remain so.
There's just something about the new XKR that appeals to me a LOT! I think Jaguar as a whole have one of the most desirable ranges of cars available and every one of them is right up there at the top of its class.
Well done Jaguar. If i had the money i think i would be spending it with you. One day....
What he said. One of these and an Evora S (and an XFR and XJ). Job done.

possibly meant £6 a gallon?

really like the car though, but I would also love to see a properly hardcore stripped out version

Except for the hideous colour scheme and the fact that a 'regular' XKR looks better imho, it's brilliant...but why oh why haven't they STILL fitted a proper gearbox? One that comes with a clutch pedal for instance....

Maybe the car sounds worse than that pop tune why else would the makers prevent us from hearing it. Great @rse though.

I saw one of these on the road this morning with all the swirly camo wraps on it. Unfortunately it was going in the opposite direction so I couldn't squeeze my phone out of my pocket quickly enough to film it. Sounded bloody nice though!

Ever think the spoiler might be needed for downforce at the rear?

Its brilliant!
I am with Nutkin on that. I seem to remember Clarkson reviewing one of the other two door sporty Jaguars (not sure which one but someone on here is sure to know)and saying that due to lack of sufficient downforce it was limited in its top speed. He said it needed a spoiler or such to finish it off and up its top end.

They obviously listened.

Dear Piston Heads,

.....
The XK-R is awe-inspiringly beautiful and incredibly fast. I used to race and have never driven a car before in which what you wish to have happen actually happens before you've thought it. The flat-plane crank V8 makes a glorious sound, the Coventry Symphony Orchestra! The handling and performance are stunningly good. How Jaguar have further improved on this with the XK-RS I cannot imagine, and yet they have.

Well done Jaguar; Britain is very proud of you.

Best wishes,
Andrew Wilkins
Just for clarity - It is not a flat plane crank.
You are right though - fantastic car!

Maybe jaguar are aiming at a different Market ? Good luck to them. I was buying I would go for one in black so that you could tone down the scoops and holes. But what do I know
