Not likely to be "spluttering and losing power" due to limp mode.
Its just as likely as not as likely.
Ive had 5 c-max tdci`s in my time, two still in my family.
one had a similar power loss fault, would drive fine for five minutes then loose power then judder, then pick up again.glow plug control module circuit fault code and glow plug failure fault codes.
traced to 3 failed glow plugs, never done it since.

The first thing to do is find out exactly what is wrong.
For a lot of things, you'll find there is no way the dealer could spike or damage something so it'll fail in a few miles and need another repair.

It just doesn't fit, they won't be planning ahead like that, if they wanted to fix some phantom faults, they'd ring up midway through the service and say they's a couple more bits that need repairing whilst it's there.
Just in case this is aimed at me, I don't mean that the dealer had deliberately created a fault so they could fix it, but that something was not put back properly or knocked during the service to cause it to go wrong which is why it was immediate....
It's not aimed at anyone in particular, but more of a case of finding out what is wrong first before blaming the service.

If it is a filter not clipped in etc, it will clear cut, but if it's something else, the chances are it is just bad luck.
Unfortunately it does usually mean you'll have to get it checked over first to find out the cause, and that means back to the dealer.

Depending on the problem, it could be something disturbed, or not plugged in, but without knowing what to check yourself, you'll be stuck having to trust the garage.

My wife says that the car was driving as if it was towing something heavy and wasn't responding to more gas.
By your descriptions it sounds as though it could have been in limp mode.

I'll let you know the outcome on Monday. Hopefully it's something simple.

A quick update.

We got the car back after 12 days.
High resistance on two glow plugs. Four were replaced.

Fault still there.

Traced to possible soot in the turbo.
Garage offered to put the two good glow plugs back in and charge us for two (parts only)

We settled for leaving all new glow plugs in but paid for two (parts only).

£55 down and the inconvenience of not having a family car for 12days - probably saved the £55 on fuel

I don't want to say it but............

OP, why 12 days?

Don't know. Perhaps it is for the reason you mentioned before?
